New grandchild in 2013?

I know there are a few of us in happy anticipation of a new grandchild this year. My daughter's baby is due in February and she's chosen NOT to know the gender; although names for either have been chosen and I do like them both very much. I am very excited at the prospect of being present at the birth, as I was with daughter's first baby - and happily my lovely son in law is glad to share the experience.
Who else is an expectant gran/grandfather?

I love the name Ralph! DD would not consider it. Congrats GA.

All I can say is thank god for the possibilty of rapid medical intervention when needed.
My DGS was getting distressed and needed hastening out with forceps.

Nice name. I have just acquired a new great niece called Ezri, apparently it's Hebrew for helper!

Hello all; a second day spent at hospital/her home with daughter and new baby. Lovely. And especially nice was that his other granny hopped on a train and was able to join the party yesterday afternoon and only returned home this evening. It was actually delightful to share some time with the other granny. I do feel privileged to have been invited to be at the birth and happy that my daughter and son in law were so positive about my presence, but I will confess that it was pretty gruesome this time. shock
Baby Ralph is blossoming and is growing into his nose (!!). Already he's been called Ralph, Ralphie and Rafe - and his parents don't mind at all as they're happy with all variants. My daughter's beloved great grandfather was Ralph, so it has good connotations for the family. grin
So, Bags, are you next in the queue? Followed by Pollyann, Kazgran and NannaAnna I think.
I shall try and upload a photo now...........smile

GA Lovely for your DD to be home with her little Ralph.
It's a distinguished name - lots of precedents: Vaughan Williams, Richardson, Fiennes... flowers
