I think I might be pregnant!

It's been four days now since I should have seen a period, I was due on Monday. Maybe, if that is the case, I am pregnant. That was the reason last time I was late, some 20 years ago?

The trouble is, I can't remember some handsome hunk taking me in his arms and wooing me to the point of making a baby. Nor can I remember a flash of light followed by Archangel Gabriel declaring that I am with child at my window.

But what else could it be?

rubylady - Seriously though - as suggested, it could be stress related or menopausal. Menopause hit me quite suddenly at the age of 48. This followed my father's death after a short and unexpected illness. Go gently ruby brewflowers

After all you have been through ?

grin Well if you've been ravished and can't remember it that would be pretty stressful.

I remember fretting over a possible unwanted pregnancy before H and I married, to the point of my periods stopping.

Well many congratulations!
More seriously it may be the start of your menopause.

Sorry, but I have to laugh at myself. I guess I think all Gners are like me (no not men !) but about my age, so the thought that a GNer could be pregnant has bought me back to Earth.

Let's hope you find out one way or the other soon.

My mother had her last baby at 48 - she thought it was the menopause!! I don't think she ever knew what made babies even though she had four.

Hope all is Ok Ruby flowers

To have been ravished and not remember it - what a waste!

DaphneBroon Fri 28-Oct-16 09:12:13

Was it not Ross Poldark, last Sunday night?
I am sure I remember somebody being "swept off their feet"??

A friend of mine had a surprise baby at 50. Her daughter had a baby at almost the same time and she ended up looking after two babies while her daughter went back to work!

Peri-menopause if you're in your 40s or as others have said, stress and sorry but 4 days is hardly "late" unless your normal cycle is up about the 35 days range.

Theoddbird Fri 28-Oct-16 10:45:32

Hahahaha I remember thinking I was pregnant when I was 48...my friends thought it a hoot. Was actually menopause. Periods stopped never to start again smile

Shazmo24 Fri 28-Oct-16 10:45:55

I'm 56 and still getting regular periods!! So wish I could have the menopause!

vintage1950 Fri 28-Oct-16 10:54:51

I'd say the menopause. Mine started like that. Good luck!

nannabo Fri 28-Oct-16 11:07:50

Thanks this made me laugh smile

Sheilasue Fri 28-Oct-16 11:07:55

Menopause probably, but be careful can get pregnant if it is that because your body is all over the place now. Tell that handsome hunk to bring a condom next time.

Kim0612 Fri 28-Oct-16 11:13:26

Shazmo, I'm with you, I'm nearly 55 & still getting periods, I thought I was on the way as was 11 weeks late & getting a gentle flush but then came on & had no hot flushes since.

grandMattie Fri 28-Oct-16 12:43:55

considered fibroids? Common in ladies of our age[s]

Anniebach Fri 28-Oct-16 12:51:11

Or a phantom pregnancy !

Luckygirl Fri 28-Oct-16 15:33:21

My Mum did not end her periods until late 50s - this was one of the reasons I had a hysterectomy at 42, as they were so troublesome (well, they only stopped for about 48 hours each month!) and I could not countenance another 12-14 years of it!

Jalima Fri 28-Oct-16 17:18:20

Well, the baby won't be arriving on 25th December, that's for sure
(but then, neither did Jesus)

A neighbour thought she was going through the menopause at 49.
Josh must be about 10 now
