Black dog gang

Hi Annie and black dog fellow travellers. Resting today as long taxi trip to an appt yesterday has sent it into painful spasm.

Netflix and Voyager giving me a bit of a laugh.

I have 3 siblings, our parents play us all off against each other. One brother poor thing has had 3 breakdowns in 9 years, has ECT each time. I am in email contact with him but haven’t met since 2004. He lives 22 miles away.

Yesterday I had an appointment with the kindest doctor I have met in years. I cried when I got home.

Wonderful though, I am grateful.

Reading our posts does it not seem there is no answer to the age old question - nature or nuture ?

Sparkly my parents did that. I won't go into detail but some really terrible things happened.

I,m very flat today..dont know why. first part of health MOT yesterday..blood pressure is very high. has been for months but i stopped taking the meds because i felt ok... restarted them last night. This sounds so stupid but i feel i want time just to feel miserable does this make sense to anyone? day off tomorrow but no window shopping or seeing friend just walking dogs housework and constant eating for me..same old same old

I understand what you mean about parents playing their children off each other. My husband 's mother did that for 30 years with her three children until she passed. My husband and I were left out of everything. The ramifications of her actions have had a huge impact on our lives and it is impossible short of a miracle to see how we would ever be close to his siblings again. I would become ferociously anxious if l was to be meeting up with husband 's siblings and would have the old anticipatory anxiety.

The process above is called triangulation and it felt to me like perennial bullying. That is my road back to normality to overcome this.

Just when l saw Sparkly's post l felt prompted to share. I call myself Dawn for seeing myself rising like the New Dawn. The name new dawn was already taken on.Gransnet.

Not so bad Annie, had a bad night so trying hard to stay awake so hopefully sleep better tonight.. had a lovely day with my daughters and granddaughter, she I’d so funny she does make me happy Annie.. have you tryed going down your garden today?

Not been out today, felt really tired and the wretched dislocated knee so painful, I stayed on sofa all day, probably that’s why I felt tired, boredom

isnt it funny how doing nothing makes you feel so tired. I wonder if its because your body is holding on to nothing for the hope you do it again lol

Nonnie I am sorry to hear that.

I am glad I am outside the triangulation as someone called it. One sister and brother seem to still be being wound up by parents, who are in their 80s.

Anyway, I hope we all feel comfortable a bit tomorrow. I hope with a bit more energy.

Joce bless them. Since my grandchildren moved away last summer for the first time in my life I have no youngsters in my life and find it so hard. Four younger siblings , first baby 11 months after we married, then younger daughter, nieces and nephews calling in, made my daughters the centre of my life, then my grandchildren.

Aww Annie bless you .. you love them so much don’t you? they do make every one happy.. am so lucky to have mine so close..

Saw them every day Joce my elder daughter and I were very close so when she had her children she and her husband allowed me to part of their lives, they even asked me to choose the name for their third baby , my son in law said ‘you choose but not Angharad ?

Haha how lovely of them... did you choose there baby’s name?
