Wyllow3 Lovely music, thanks for that. Hope you're ok this morning.
SweetpeaSue Brain training consists of puzzles, quizzes, etc., often logical ones, to challenge the brain and try to sharpen it. Hope you had a good night.

It's very foggy here again. Hope all on BD is ok x

Scaredycat Mon 14-Nov-22 16:14:55

Hello dear friends.
Home last night after what was a truly wonderful week. In that beautiful city the anxiety and fears lessened so much - it was like a little miracle.I have just finished reading all your posts and feel guilty that while I was feeling so much better so many of you are suffering such a lot. You are a very brave inspiring and kind group. Also full of humour too .
I have known great trauma and suffering in the past which has left me fearful and anxious so I do understand many of the emotions you so movingly write about. I don’t post much about it for fear of identification - see fear is always there!
Tomorrow we have a family funeral so will be out for a very long day with my DD and 2 of our GDs. It will be a very emotional day.
Will be back on Wednesday and look forward to “joining in “ with you all again. Take care all.

Wyllow3 Mon 14-Nov-22 18:19:52

Scaredycat tho I understand the guilt thing please DONT as its a cause for celebration if a BD's load has lightened!

Today has been a good one for me, with a new nice thing. cafe and shop and gym dun and dusted.
Now I just have to make sure I dont "spoil" it deliberately, tho will be tired tomorrow, as been "on the go" and I know sometimes wrecker dreams arrive.

Evening all. Pleased to say I had a PM from Annie this afternoon. Today her electric bed is being delivered and her GP phoned to ask her if she wanted to see a rheumatologist.
About time the NHS started looking after our Annie better.
Still not allowed iPad but wanted to say hello.
HVDY your poor fingers. Hope it’s not too painful. I once burnt my thumb on a hot tray on Christmas Day. I spent the rest of the Christmas holiday with my hand in a bucket of ice.
I used to do brain training on a little gadget (can’t remember what it was called now……"perhaps Nintendo ) I’ve still got it somewhere. I did quite well for a while then moved onto other things. I now mainly play games on the iPad. Nice to have some time to yourself.
Wyllow I’m sorry. That was young to lose your dad. What a lot you’ve had to cope with in your life. We did have a lovely walk yesterday and again today. Not sunny today but peaceful and autumnal. I enjoyed it. We were in the park at dusk and I was sitting looking at all the trees. I love trees.
Will listen to your music in a bit.
Sweetpeasue I miss typed your name to begin with and came up with Sweep and Sue which got me thinking of Sooty and Sweep. Remember them and their girlfriend Sue?
Of course we believe you. I’m sure in your circumstances all of us would want answers. Just to know exactly what happened and what’s causing your pain. What’s written doesn’t seem to hold water against what you’ve been told and experienced.
Don’t know how you go about getting the truth.

Doodle Mon 14-Nov-22 19:00:13

HVDY no sunshine here today but no fog either. Are you near the coast? Wonder where all your fog comes from.
Scaredycat how lovely to hear from you.
Never, ever feel guilty for feeling ok or good. We all have times of feeling bad and down so must make the most of things when we feel better. I’m so glad you had a good time. It sounds as though it did you the world of good.
Sorry you’ve had to come back to a funeral. Hope it goes as well as possible.
Wyllow I’m so pleased you had a good day too. Please enjoy it and don’t let your mind stray onto other things. Take the joy and remember it.
Sleep well all.

Wyllow3 Mon 14-Nov-22 19:05:29

Thank you for Annie news

nadateturbe Mon 14-Nov-22 21:51:18

Thanks for update on Annie Doodle.

HowVeryDareYou Mon 14-Nov-22 22:27:32

ScaredyCat Glad you had a good time last week. It must have done you good. Hope tomorrow goes as well as these things can go.

Wyllow3 You were very young when your dad died. That must have been difficult. Glad you had a good day today.

Doodle It's good that Annie is now starting to get some care from the "professionals" now. I'm in Nottingham, the nearest coastal place is about 90 miles away (Skegness).
We're high up here (the highest point in Nottingham I think)
My fingers are ok now, thanks. Your stroll in the park sounds very nice.

SweetpeaSue I hope you've had a decent day.

Son2 was here, for dinner, and stayed chatting for 4 hours smile. I think the enormity of the changes in his life - selling his house, moving in with his GF, buying the other house, being away from us (only about 12 miles), expecting a baby, had made him panic (he's lived alone for the past 6 years). I basically told him he needs to act his age (38) and get on with it all. He's taken my advice grin. When I was 38, he and Son1 were 13 and 16, and my mum had been gone 2 years. Kids today, eh grin. Hope all on BD has a restful night x

rafichagran Tue 15-Nov-22 01:00:44

Thanks for the update on Annie Doodle.

Ellie Anne Tue 15-Nov-22 07:55:19

Glad for the update on Annie thank you.

HowVeryDareYou Tue 15-Nov-22 16:51:24

How has everyone been today? It's rained all day here. I did aqua areobics this morning, then took my friend out for lunch, as she's 65 tomorrow. We had a mooch round the (indoor only) garden centre. DH has fixed the new glass in the oven door.

Wyllow3 Tue 15-Nov-22 19:22:26

HVDY sounds a good way to spend a rainy day!

Had counselling today so feeling thoughtful but supported and just exhausted so low key. Chatting online a lot and glad its around thank goodness for the days of Zoom and internet!.

Bests to all BD's nice to see others in.

Doodle Tue 15-Nov-22 21:20:28

HVDY not likely to be sea mist then 😊. I’ve never been to Nottingham but imagine it as being lovely and picturesque (i.e. Robin Hood type landscape) is that what it’s like ?
Glad your fingers are ok now.
Good bit advice for your son. Not surprised he’s having a bit of a wobble though he’s got a lot of changes going on. 12 miles isn’t so bad. You won’t be far away for a spot of babysitting.
Glad your ovens fixed now all you need is a new dish for the lasagne.
rafichagran it’s good to know you are still around and popping in now and again. Nice to hear from you.
Ellie Anne have you been to see your DGD riding yet?
Wyllow I hope the counselling is helping. It’s good you feel supported I hope that means you can engage with your counsellor and feel some connection. Hope you sleep well tonight and have a peaceful night.
Sweetpeasue how have you been today?
Scaredycat have you done your washing yet? That’s always the worst part of a holiday.
Not been out today as it’s been pouring all day. Been fiddling around making some Christmas decorations just for the want of something different to occupy my mind.
Hope Annie’s bed has arrived and is proving to be helpful.
Take care all

Ellie Anne Tue 15-Nov-22 22:04:08

No doodle I haven’t been yet . It would mean having a conversation with him and that’s not happening at the moment. But I see her every Wednesday after school so it’s ok.

Wyllow3 Tue 15-Nov-22 23:30:16

Doodle today was not tempting to go out in, was it? Glad it turned out to be productive in some way. Maybe you and I might hit the Big Outdoors tomorrow....
Counselling headline I wrote down was "I'm afraid of being my authentic self" (as I stopped being it with Ex for so long, and because its wobbly anyway, or I wouldn't have got into pickles.....)

Sweetpeasue Wed 16-Nov-22 05:03:29

Rained here all day yesterday.
Thankyou for news about Annie, Doodle.

HowVeryDareYou Wed 16-Nov-22 13:15:50

Doodle Nottingham has got lots of lovely parks. We've got Burntstump park and Newstead Abbey (ancestral home of Lord Byron) about 2 miles away.
EllieAnne Enjoy your time with your granddaughter later.
SweetpeaSue Hope you're ok today.
Wyllow3 Hope you're having a better day.
Anniebach Hope you've been able to read the posts on here and I hope you're feeling more comfortable.

The weather's better today. I did an hour of circuit training at the gym! I thought I might keel over, but I did it. Just cooking a beef curry for tonight. Son2 came round again last night. He's moving out of his house, properly (buyer moving in) on 25th. I've offered to go and clean the place next week, before the move. Hope all on BD has a decent day x

Scaredycat Wed 16-Nov-22 15:15:46

Wyllow- glad you are feeling the counselling is helping you- feeling supported will give you the confidence to open up. It’s time to be yourself again- it’s so wearying trying to put on a different face from your real one.I,m sure without the stress you have had for a long time you will be fine.
Doodle- some washing has been done but it’s rained pretty hard since we got back so,there’s plenty left to do😩
Yesterday we had a 300 mile round trip for the funeral so last night I was exhausted. The funeral went well in the dearest most ancient and tiny Church and we celebrated a life well lived. It was very emotional seeing people from my old life but lovely nevertheless.I,d had AF since Mon afternoon which just wouldn’t let up so felt poorly when we got back. Finally stopped this morning so going for a little walk now.
Back from our walk now - bit chilly but I,m glad we went.
Thank you for letting us know about Annie. Hope her new bed will give her some comfort and proper rest.
HVDY- what sensible advice you gave your son and he obviously values your your kind and loving words.
Glad you had a nice day with your friend on her birthday- times with friends are special.
Circuit training sounds very energetic - don’t do too much as you will need some energy left to help with the house cleaning next week!
EllieAnne- it’s good that you see your GD regularly. What a shame you just can’t go and watch her ride- she must be gaining a bit of confidence by now.
Sweet PeaSue- hope whatever you are doing today you are able to enjoy it pain free.
Love to all BDGxxx

Doodle Wed 16-Nov-22 19:45:46

Ellie Anne is him your husband or your son? If it’s your husband can you not go and see your DGD riding without him?
Glad you see her every week though. Lovely to see her so often hope you enjoy her visit today.
Wyllow I have been out today. Church this morning. Walk to pharmacy to collect meds this afternoon then coffee with a friend. Been a busy day. How about you?
Sweetpeasue hope you’re ok.
HVDY Nottingham sounds nice. You have somewhere good to take the DGC then.
You are never short of cleaning jobs are you 🤣 Volunteering to clean your sons house, that’s nice of you. Hope he appreciates it. An hours circuit training 😱 are you entering the olympics? Well done you.
Scsredycat the funeral sounds lovely. Shame the AF was playing you up. Not surprised you’re exhausted it’s a long journey also meeting up with people again. Take it easy tomorrow. The washing can wait.
Annie hope the bed is working well.
I’m tired tonight too. Got to be up early tomorrow to help out at the Church. I don’t mind. They are nice people. Sleep well all

HowVeryDareYou Wed 16-Nov-22 22:37:52

ScaredyCat That was a very long trip for the funeral. You must have been tired out. Emotions do run high when seeing old friends, especially at funerals, don't they? Glad your AF settled and that you were able to get out.

Doodle The circuit training isn't round a track or anything - it's in the gym, on a variety of different bits of equipment, for different muscle groups. It was good, but I realise how unfit I am now. Good that you were able to get out. It stayed dry today.

Hope all on BD has a restful night. Son2 has been here (that's 3 nights in a row) for his dinner. He's just gone, so I'm off to bed. Night all x

Wyllow3 Wed 16-Nov-22 22:46:28

Night night and peaceful wishes for all BD's x

HowVeryDareYou Thu 17-Nov-22 17:41:21

How has everyone been today? It's poured with rain all day here. Went to the day centre with my sister-in-law, and took her home. Nice to be indoors, all warm and cosy. smile

Doodle Thu 17-Nov-22 19:44:49

HVDY doesn’t matter if it was on a track or not I still think you are doing really well in exercising.
Is your son2 still anxious about the thought of becoming a dad?
Hope you had a good time at the day centre. Not been too bad weather wise today here but I agree about being warm and cosy indoors.
We have a really early start tomorrow. DH is going in for his second cataract op and he wants to be up by 4.30 so he can take all his Bp meds and take his time getting ready. We have to be at the hospital by 7.30.
We are planning to go to bed by 9.30 but although I’m really sleepy now I bet by then I’ll be wide awake.
If I don’t post again tonight that will be why.
Hope all the BD are ok.
I’ve been helping out at playgroup today. Love watching the little ones running round.

Sweetpeasue Thu 17-Nov-22 21:21:20

Doodle Ooh that's an extremely early start! Weird, isn't it, that if you know you HAVE to go to sleep you can't? I remember you saying how your husband's first cataract op was good so I'm sure he'll be feeling fine, nerves wise. That's 2 early mornings in a row for you. Night night. 🥱😴
Scaredycat I hope your AF has not been bothering you today. It must be a bit concerning for you when it starts up. The journey for the funeral was indeed a long one so I'm not surprised you've felt exhausted after that. Hope you've been OK today.
HVDY You've been trying so hard to regain your fitness, you are an inspiration. Hope the move for your son goes well.
Wyllow I hope your CFS is allowing you to get by doing the things you need to do right now. Be kind to yourself. Counselling can take it out of you and be very draining.

EllieAnne Whiff and all on BD, wishing you all a peaceful night.

Sweetpeasue Thu 17-Nov-22 21:41:00

HVDY Your son hasn't moved yet--sorry. I'm getting muddled--doesn't take much lately! Rained all day here today for second day and some flood warnings in place. Never heard of Burntstump Park. Know there's a Clumber Park quite near to where son lives. Hope you're OK.
