following on from the thread about what small thing would make things better, what have you got recently which you couldn't now live without?

. . . my reach and grab stick, it helps me dust, grab my glasses, feed the dog, open the window, just a fantastic piece of kit for only a few pounds. smile

My breadmaker. I haven't bought bread in years. I love my bread because I know exactly what's in it. I make it with all organic ingredients: Wholemeal flour, rye flour, rapeseed oil, malt, molasses, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds and two eggs. It tastes delicious, has a wonderful texture and is so much more satisfying than any bought bread. When baked (overnight), I leave it to cool completely then slice it and freeze it. That way my bread is always fresh and I never run out. I do different types of bread to suit all occasions - it's there in the freezer and it's so easy just to take one slice at a time. Oh, I forgot to mention it costs less than 40 pence for a 940g loaf - beat that!!

My Gtech cordless sweeper. The smallest and cheapest they do.
We had one in a holiday cottage last year and couldn't believe how efficient it was.

My Bosch cordless vacuum cleaner - I badgered DH til he agreed that despite having a big heavy efficient ordinary vacuum cleaner, for the twice daily cleaning of downstairs floors necessitated by his hairy dog, we needed something quick, light and manoeuvrable. No, I am not at all houseproud, but his dog is ridiculously hairy and the DGCs are small and mobile and pick up everything.

I have 2 g-techs - one is brilliant the other newer model is not so good. I also have a heavy Dyson which I've not had out since I got the other one. Ana I debated long and hard about spending that much but finally decided that having wasted money on several ones over the last few years which haven't done the job I would go for it. I seem to have rather a collection at the moment blush

I'm definitely going to try some of the things posters have mentioned. I really like the sound of the toastabags, and I'm wondering if I can coax my husband into getting a Bosch lightweight cleaner. I'm also going to dig out the breadmaker I was given for a present and have never used. Thanks for mentioning them!

In readiness for retirement, I was keen to have a machine or gadget for all eventualities. We are almost self sufficient in fruit and veg produce, make our own bread, preserves etc so still making regular use of most of the equipment.

My pride and joy are the recent acquisitions: iPad and Kitchenaid, sometimes used simultaneously if working from a recipe on the Internet.

Mr. L is happy with his new steam cleaner as he is in charge of floor cleaning which is mostly tiled.

Now I am seriously tempted by one of those soup maker thingys.........could be the next must have.

Argon oil shampoo, any particular brand? I googled it and there are so many different brands.

I couldn't live without my camera or laptop.

Technology of any sort, my house, my car my life would not function without it all.
My good health.....so far.
My daughter, if she would ever speak to me again, and with that my grandchildren.
my sense of humour, had to dig deap for that today, by 12noon I had managed to put petrol in my diesel car, use the wrong PIN with the credit card, and because I was so fed up, when the car had been fixed, have the BIGGEST choc muffin you have ever seen and I am on a diet!!!!

I am now home and feel like going to bed, right now this is what I can't live without.confused

My chromecast which was a Christmas present. It's a little gadget that plugs into the back of our ailing television so I can watch anything on the BBC I player via my iPad and I can look at the lovely photos my daughter sends of the grandchildren, who live quite a long way away, on the tv

When we installed a new shower room we ordered a 'riser' for the loo. It's only a few centimetres higher but makes getting off much easier when my dodgy knee is playing up.
