Duvets

My feather and down duvet is very old and getting a bit flat. I’ve been thinking about a wool duvet for a while but I don’t know anyone who has one and can tell me if they’re great or not! I found a post on here from 2021 which mentions them but nothing more recent.
I’m looking at the wool duvet on Groupon and need super king. Someone said they’re very heavy especially for changing covers.
Does anyone have any advice on wool duvets?

We’ve had a superking wool duvet for years.
I thought I had made a big mistake at first as it smelt! Of wool!
I hung it on the line for a couple of days and was assured by the seller that the smell wears off. It does,
I only change the cover twice a year and use a top sheet. Seems to work.

Best duvet I have is pure goose down. Very expensive initially but has never lost it's loft or lightness. Covers all temperatures unlike synthetic and never been washed because use a decent cover

Don’t bother with Groupon. Not the best place to buy a duvet!

Where is everyone buying their coverless duvets from? There are loads of different sites on FB but most seem to be advertising the same ones, and all seem to be plain colours.

I stopped using a duvet long ago as i get too hot in the night - so i have an empty duvet cover with layers of coverings over it. MrA is ok with a duvet - i am wondering if others find a duvet too hot?

A king size duvet won’t go in our washing machine. No point me considering one.

I bought a coverless duvet sold as 100% cotton which of course it’s not, only the cover. I had thought it had some sort of cotton filling, I probably didn’t read the website properly. Anyway, it’s only ok, and it is nice not to have to wrestle with a cover and it fits fine in my WM but it is larger capacity than usual. I don’t know anyone who has a wool one, I’m very happy with my goose down duvet for the winter, it’s probably 20 years old, expensive at the time but worth every penny, so soft, light and warm. I would swerve any duvet with feathers because there is no warmth in a feather, just great for flying and the quills can poke through.
