Does anyone have any Dubarry boots? I'm thinking of investing in a pair as I'm fed up of being stuck at home when the weather is bad. I've replaced my old wax jacket with one that should now outlive me but my feet are always a problem. Tried on some Dubarry Galway boots last week and they didn't hurt my feet [hurrah] but scared to pay a fortune only to find they hurt after a while. Want boots that have plenty of grip when it's icy and that are warm. They seem ideal but are seriously pricey.
Even second hand on ebay needing repairs they cost a fortune . But I've got such awful feet that they're making me almost house bound [can't wear trainers everywhere, and even the trainers I buy cost @ £80]. Got cupboards full of shoes that I've never been able to wear [even though they felt fine in the shop]. The S.O. says he'll give me some money towards them as an early birthday present.
Tegan I too have real feet problems, and these days I rely on my Ecco boots; I have two pairs on the go at the moment - one with a furry lining (well worn). bothe have soles with a good grip. (Think I've told you about my boot collection elsewhere,)
Tegan Have you tried DB shoes from here They are now the only shoes and boots I buy, since I found they fitted my feet so well, and did not look like herring boxes. I was fed up with all those firms selling "wide fit" shoes that fitted like a victorian corset and still managed to look awful.
PS - I have no connection with the firm, I just buy them.
DH bought a pair of the men's ones, Jo - very supportive and comfortable and did not look like carpet slippers. He could wear them outside for short walks round the block, too.
Forgot to say I am looking into those shoes/boots mentioned; the DB boots look very promising Elegran but I can't print off the width guide [no printer]. Am going to phone them for advice.
