matson Sat 20-Jul-13 15:16:54

Hello yayajen, its fine with me if you are well enough.Look forward to meeting yousmile

annegr Sun 21-Jul-13 11:15:07

Hello Jen, Just scanned our site. Of course it will be fine and lovely to see you Monday (tomorrow) at around 10 in Morrison's cafe. We sit in the cafe whilst we wait for each other and I shall be with my friend who has learnt to skype her daughter in New Zealand and see granddaughter aged 3-4 ?
I hope the sun comes back next week, I've just got used to it.
See you as well, nanna Matson. Are you the very suntanned one?

matson Sun 21-Jul-13 16:41:47

hi annegr, I am the sun tanned one! who is now sadly peelingsmile. With the lovely weather you have enjoyed here these past weeks, I hope you are too.
See you tomorrow and Jen too x

matson Sun 21-Jul-13 16:43:09

Not peeling!! I must reread messages before I send themgrin

YaYaJen Sun 21-Jul-13 19:19:48

Sorry ladies, I have messed up my prescription and run out of essentials so must go to the docs asap in the morning. Well done to your friend for mastering Skype, it is a great and cheap way to keep in touch

we will all get together soon I hope
Jen

Good morning to all, particularly Jen. Sorry to hear of difficulties. However, I suppose we should all be thankful we have not just been admitted to the Lyndo suite like Kate! Let us hope that all goes well today for her.It costs £6500 per night for delivery and room - I would expect someone to have my baby for me for that money.

YaYaJen Tue 23-Jul-13 07:37:16

Thanks Annegr, all sorted, messages between surgery and chemists have been known to get to mixed up which adds to the worry..

DD used to say to me after learning where babies come from that she didn't really fancy doing that and would I have her babies for her.

Hope you enjoyed the coffees
jen x

annegr Tue 23-Jul-13 08:35:53

Good morning readers, We had a nice coffee meeting and discussed going to Stokesley next week for coffee and scone at the Italian cafe (name?) We will be making arrangements during this week, chatting on this site. Maybe of interest to you all.
Nice to hear about the new Royal baby - a good weight at 8lbs plus.
When you get your day going, Matson, have a look at those bus timetables, won't you?

annegr Wed 24-Jul-13 18:59:09

Hello Matson and Jen, Hope you are both keeping your heads above water, so to speak. We have had quite a few heavy showers but not as bad as predicted.
I thought you might appreciate a bit of positive activity on the social front. You remember we spoke about a different venue when we met in Morrison's. All is sorted with various interested parties now and Stokesley is agreed on for next Monday morning, either the Italian cafe or Howard's, whichever looks most peaceful. The bus you suggested, nanna M.,is ideal - 9.47am (81) from the clock. Me and R will catch the same bus at Kirkleatham Lane. We arrive in Stokesley just before 11.
There are 2 ladies I know from computer class who would like to know more about Gransnet and have agreed to catch this bus if they decide to come.
We would all love to see you, Jen, if that is at all possible.

YaYaJen Wed 24-Jul-13 19:41:35

That is wonderful annegr!
Sadly have to accompany Pete on an important docs appointment that is at 11am....must be fated.
Hopefully next time!

annegr Thu 25-Jul-13 19:54:53

Hello all, I've just been sitting in back garden cooling off after very hot and busy day.Now I hear rumbles of thunder!
I went out with grandson and mum in their car on a tour of various garden nurseries and cafes. Came home with 2 very cheap roses (with fungus black spot) and a free plant for pot near front door. I've snipped affected leaves from roses, sprayed with something from the shed, dug holes in back grass and planted them. Now the heavens have opened - lucky me.
Grandson coming next Wed. for a few hours and staying for lunch. We will be putting the tent up (much to neighbours' amusement) and drawing up plans for his proposed model railway. These are all his ideas, I just do as I'm told.
My friend R has spent the day sunning herself. I have given her a book to read which is quite contraversial- Mary's Testament by Colm Tobin. A fictional story of Jesus from his mother's point of view.Another neighbour wants to borrow it after so it will be a book club discussion ( or I will be burnt at the stake)shock

YaYaJen Fri 26-Jul-13 10:14:16

Hope this weather continues, music festival Sat & family barbecue Sun - hope I last out too!

A discussion on the Wright Stuff made me think so have started a discussion local.gransnet.com/forums/local_north_yorkshire/1199899-Family-what-is-normal & would love to know your thoughts.

YaYaJen Fri 26-Jul-13 19:40:30

Evening all,

have told his nibs to go one his own, we usually do important stuff together but he appreciated that coming to meet you all is important too.

May drive but bus is also an option, depending how tired I am after a busy weekend.....will check times, shall I message you my mobile so you can let me know the meeting place/
Jen

annegr Sat 27-Jul-13 09:33:30

Good morning Matson and Jen, Thanks for making your alterations to meet us, glad about the meeting.
I'm still a technophobe, rather worried I won't find your mobile number if you send it privately. I know I found my way this morning to the message on email.I had a good sleep last night!!
We will get off the 81 bus approx.10.45 as it comes into the High St. This is the terminus for this bus, it then goes back to Redcar.
We shall have a look in the Italian cafe, somewhere in the vicinity of the fruit shop and Boyes (opposite) and see if there are tables. If not, then will walk down to Howard's who have tons of room inside and out. That's because it's dearer (cynical me)
You could try sending Matson your info. She is far more with it than I am. I shall take my mobile with me so we do have means of comm. if we have a number, that is.
When we meet, I shall give you my info. for other times.

annegr Sat 27-Jul-13 16:16:30

I have re-read my message. I don't mean the fruit shop and Boyes are opposite the cafe. I mean they are opposite the bus stop and the cafe is on the same side as them.confused

matson Sat 27-Jul-13 16:46:30

Dear all, unfortunately I am unable to join you on Monday, I have picked up a nasty chest infection and being treated with antibiotics and steroids. Thus restricting my wanderings till I get my " puff " back.
So sorry annegr after all your arranging, I was looking forward to itsad. I hope you all have a lovely time, I will be in touch soon x

YaYaJen Sun 28-Jul-13 09:47:50

Hope the meds work asap matson, some vile infections around at the moment...

annegr, are the other ladies coming? If not maybe we should postpone until matson has her puff back?

annegr Sun 28-Jul-13 11:35:24

Dear Matson and Jen, So sorry you are poorly. I shall e mail my computer ladies and call it off because they were flexible (unsure?) about their intentions anyway. My neighbour down the road is easily accessable and it will cost her a cup of coffee when I nip down.
I agree we should wait for Matson to get her puff back, a lovely lady to talk to and it would be a shame for all of us if one did not feel well.
I shall do the e mail now to the others.
Another time, another place. Take care everyone.Lots of love.

matson Wed 31-Jul-13 16:02:02

Hello annegr, I hope you are well, so sorry you all had to postpone on Monday, we shall have to a pow-wow and re-schedule!
Happily my meds are starting to work and I,m feeling a bit fragile but fine, I have had a couple of slow wanderings, I,m a terrible patient and hate being stuck insmile.
All being well I should be ok for Monday, but will be in touch before then. x

annegr Thu 01-Aug-13 08:02:52

Good morning, Nice to hear from you, back in the land of the living. I had a day and a half yesterday, had grandson!. We put the tent up and then I was allocated the job of chief wasp catcher. It was so hot in the tent as well.He is camping with mum and dad next week in the Lake District so I shall watch the forecast every day they are away.
R has got her appt. 5th Sept. She is off to her son's next wk. for a few days but not till Wed. Then one of her daughters and 2 dogs is coming to stay with her for 2 wks- in 1bed bung. She will definitely need appt. with consultant after that. We are doing a bit of gardening in her front garden today - just a tidy up job.No good her waiting for C&C gardeners, she won't be able to get to front door.
Get back before Monday and let me know. I shall be staying in the town until after lunch as I am visiting an old lady of 94 in the afternoon, at New Marske. She's not quite what you expect for 94, sharp as a needle and great fun.

YaYaJen Thu 01-Aug-13 13:11:48

hi matson, pleased to see you are feeling better, Monday should be fine for me too...

matson Thu 01-Aug-13 15:49:07

hello ladies, so pleased you have had a lovely time with your grandson annegrsmile and good news about the consultant appointment at last!
Thank you jen for your kind thoughts and I too hope you are recovered from your ailments!
It would appear I have done another booboo! Sadly Monday 5th would have been my husband 60th birthday and I will be spending it with family and going to cemmy. Sorry once again.
I can do a cuppa tues or wed morning at morrisons , no pressure if its not acceptable to you all. love x

YaYaJen Thu 01-Aug-13 19:12:34

Hi Matson,
hope Monday day of remembering with family goes well.
Probably have boys Weds so Tues would be best for me if possible x

annegr Fri 02-Aug-13 08:25:11

Good morning,I shall pop into Morrison's on Tues. about 10 and will scan the cafe for stray ladies. There is the possibility (only a chance) that I can't make it so get your coffees and don't wait for me.

YaYaJen Fri 02-Aug-13 10:15:26
