I've been reminded that over a month ago I was tentatively suggesting doing something in Edinburgh on Burns Night - or rather Burns Lunchtime, as that gives people longer to get home afterwards.

I think we had four possible expressions of interest at that time - Gally, Marelli, Baubles and me. Anyone else going to join us?

And do we want to have a toast to His Nibs, and to The Lasses and someone reciting the Ode to a Haggis, or just a plate of haggis, neeps and chappit tatties and constant conversation?

The receptionist at the venue I had in mind originally sounded distinctly lukewarm when I did a very preliminary recce - could be because I had no idea of numbers or date or anything. If I get it a bit more concrete I will go back.

I've been having rather strange meals. Yesterday a friend and I had haggis, neeps and mashed potato, followed by trifle and wine/fruit jelly (but the jelly has completely dissolved into the juice of the cut fruit) She took a generous helping if haggis home for her husband. Today it is cheese and oatcakes (very healthy) followed by a large helping of cream trifle (not so healthy)

Wonder what tomorrow will bring? There is still plenty of haggis . . . .

Oh harrigran - here's a bunch of flowers! It takes a lot more than a gentle comment like that to bother any of us. You met the majority of us at Gally's that time, so you know what a feisty bunch we are wink! xx
