I'm coming too! Elizabeth1 (rarely posts, but has met most of the NE and Edinburgh Gn's) would have loved to have been there, but is away at that time - however, she does send her love! (smile)

We will be on our way (driving, stopping here and there) to Dundee round about 7th September....if there's anything happening on the way up, do let me know!

So having read the posts can someone just confirm the venue that has been agreed? I hope it's OK for me to come as I don't really know anyone.

I'd love to be going to the countryside but as I don't have a car that could prove difficult. I thought the point was to meet other Grans and Granddads and have a happy lunch. [cake] brew smile

Glass, I am afraid you will now have to add me to the 'maybes'. My DDil gave birth to our fourth grandchild on Thursday morning, Ethan James, but he came at 34 weeks so is in the Wansbeck in the SCBU. My DDil is having to go up twice a day from Newcastle, so I am looking after her DD while she does. We have no idea how long he will be in Special Care, but if he is still there on the 11th, I am afraid I will have to bow out. Fortunately DGS was a good weight for his "age", but obviously is still premature and needs time to develop fully. His parents have been warned that he may be in until his due date, but we are optimistic that it will be sooner.

It will be lovely to see everyone again so I hope I can make it.

glassortwo Sat 28-Jun-14 20:36:59

ayse we have already added you into the numbers and we are all looking forward to meeting you. Dont worry about not having been to a meet up.

I think we are going to Panis but will confirm when we get all the numbers together.
grin I had to check the name of the restaurant as the other suggested name has stuck in my head and will never be able to call it by its real name. grin

Have a lovely time everyone, yes I was having a bit of a wind up yesterday. I cant manage Fridays as I work and really don't like Italian food. No disrespect to the restaurant Im sure its great and will go when im in town and not working as I hate to be in 'work clothes' in a nice place. Maybe they will give me coffee and toast or something. x

Oh GillieB that must have been a shock for you all, and of course you have to be there to help out.
I became a Grandma again this week a DGD but she was overdue,it must be worrying for you all, things might have settled down by then and we might get to see you... I hope so, but good luck, its amazing how quickly the little ones come on. Best wishes to you all xx

glassortwo Sat 28-Jun-14 20:44:58

silver we would love to see you at one of the meet ups, let us know when you can make it and we can arrange something.

moomin Sat 28-Jun-14 20:52:34

Congratulations GillieB! I'm sure all will go well for Ethan James. It would be great if you could make the lunch, but if not this time then maybe next.

Congratulations, GillieB and welcome to your little preemie grandson. Glad to hear his birthweight was a good size. My little grandsons were born at 35 weeks and allowed home a week later because they were doing well, one of them just managing to weigh 4lbs dripping wet! I hope you get that special first cuddle soon flowers
