Anyone interested in coffee at the Gallery cafe at the Mound on 16th August? Anya and I will be meeting there and wondered whether anyone else is free?

Elegran Wed 16-Aug-17 20:59:33

Good to see everyone again and meet Anya and Cascats. It may not be all disapppointment on Eaglehurst, oldgoat That was two years earlier in 1898 so 1900 is still possible.

Thanks oldgoat eyes are fine, floating black strands are just another fun part of aging... hope to see all again soon.

Thank you all for a your welcome, enjoyed meeting you all and looking forward to next time.

It was great to meet up and put names to faces. We put up a great United Front against Those Who Wanted to Shift Us from our table I thought!

Just back home a few hours ago after a long and dreary 7 hour train journey. Now need to go into rehab.

You lucky folks and there's me working away once again. I better get to the next meet up please pretty please. Elegran when/if you've time any chance of a C meet up. I'll have a think when I get home.

Elegran Sun 20-Aug-17 10:05:44

Sorry I've not replied earlier, Elizabeth1 I've not been online much for a day or two. A C* meet will have to be after the 11th December, better start plannng soon. Everyone think about what commitments they already have after that and look out for a new thread.

I'm free the 11th - 22nd except Monday the 18th smile

Does anyone fancy Shrek? It's on the 19th at 7pm Edinburgh Playhouse.

Elegran Sat 09-Sept-17 09:24:03

Unfortunately, no, Shrek doesn't appeal to me . I had a look at "What's on" yesterday and was very disappointed - looks like approximately nothing. I'd fancy a nice meal though.

Katek Sat 09-Sept-17 11:53:48

No can do I'm afraid, but has anyone any thoughts re C.......s meet up?

Elegran Sat 09-Sept-17 13:36:23

It seems it will be between Dec 11th and Dec 22nd (but not the 18th) Any other date restrictions?

Jane10 Sat 09-Sept-17 16:53:38

I'm not an evening person so some sort of show is not for me. Don't mean to sound rude or standoffish though. If only there was an appropriate emoticon!

Elegran Sat 09-Sept-17 17:50:53

Maybe lunch followed by an afternoon show for them as wants one and another couple of hours of sitting stuffing our faces genteel conversation and sipping china tea with lemon for them as don't?

Jane10 Sat 09-Sept-17 18:23:38

Sounds fine by me. A busy time of year though. We don't want to feel as harried as we were last time!

Elegran Sat 09-Sept-17 18:46:21

If there are enough of us we will be welcome to sit and order more wine.
We need to narrow down the date so that we can book somewhere. Where?

EllenT Sun 10-Sept-17 00:03:27

At the moment I can make any date between 11th and 22nd. Lunch or indeed tea would be lovely, though probably not a show for me. Overseas League again?

Elizabeth1 Sun 10-Sept-17 06:02:22

A lovely C lunch would suit me just fine. I enjoy eating and chatting so very much. roastchicken

Elizabeth1 Sun 10-Sept-17 06:11:40

Has anyone been to Indigo Yard it's really lovely and has a scrumptious C menu. Marelli and I have been for a brunch and we both enjoyed the meal and ambience. Have a look on their website and trip advisor for reviews. It's near the West End of Edinburgh. I would be happy to book a date now if the venue suits.

Elizabeth1 Sun 10-Sept-17 06:13:33

Fancy the 14 or 15 anyone

Jane10 Sun 10-Sept-17 07:34:44

Elizabeth 1 I hate to say it but I've been there too and didn't enjoy the experience. Maybe you were there on a quiet day. The last time I was there the place was packed out and so noisy with young trendy types shouting over the loud music that I literally couldn't hear what the person next to me was saying. December is likely to be just as busy I fear.
The ROSL is ideal location wise and the staff there are usually happy for us to linger and chat away.

Elizabeth1 Sun 10-Sept-17 09:10:14

Jane10 I'd be happy to go anywhere for a nice meal. Elegran what about it do you think we could get booked at the ROSL?

Marelli Sun 10-Sept-17 10:14:55

It would be lovely to go to ROSL again this Christmas! I'm ok right up to 20th Dec. ☺️

Elegran Sun 10-Sept-17 12:05:05

Seems that six of us can be there round about then, and I am sure more will join in when they know more. I think we need a new thread for this, so that we can attract attention from everyone interested and settle on approximate numbers and a date and venue, then it will be possible to book (or not!)

I'll start one. The ROSL could be the place - we do seem to return there again and again. It is central, welcoming, good food, they don't chuck us out if we sit around for hours . . .

Marelli Sun 10-Sept-17 12:11:15

Sounds good to me!
