On this occasion, yes, although I'm normally up for much longer. I hope to make another trip before Christmas. I try to get up to Edinburgh every other month for a couple/three weeks but babysitting down here sometimes makes it difficult . . . I never had a Gran around when I was a kid, or when I was a young Mum, so I want to be there for my DD and DGD's . . .

We'll need to fix something for one or other of those dates then, Grandeloquent (or both?)

The Old Waverley Cranston’s restaurant is now booked for Friday 28th September at 1.45. I’ll update numbers as and when however hopefully I’ll have all confirmed by the 21st. Please pretty please. Sorry they couldn’t take us earlier.

How about lunch on Thursday 8th November ? I would have recommended Royal Overseas League but sadly it is closed and building is to be sold . I'm guessing something central is best for everyone and recommendations welcome. I could do 30th October, although I'll have a Canadian/Scottish friend with me (don't know if they have Gransnet in Canada) if that's OK. She's a new Gran!

So, Grandeloquent, Cascats, Geminigen I think a new thread is needed re 8th Nov and/or 30th Oct so as not to confuse this one. I'll start it up tomorrow after the nosh-up.

Well, I have been holding off as long as possible in the hope of some minor miracle or other but none have materialised, so for reasons completely out of my control, I will sadly not be coming along tomorrow after all. To say I am gutted is an understatement as I was so looking forward to getting away from this damned awful place, in mind and body.
