Are they still members of Militant? If so, they will not be allowed in the Labour Party. Those are the rules. Even you should know that.

Annie do you actually have a sense of humour? I find your posts hilarious in their dogged determination to prove Corbyn is the devil incarnate with no redeeming characteristics. Even funnier is your belief that I have somehow only learned about socialism from books and have no family history. I rarely post about my family, it is my personal business and I prefer not to share.
I don't believe Corbyn is perfect I do think he offers the best hope for left wing politics.
But then I believed the same about Blair at one point. I was proved wrong there, I may be again.

I've been away and have just caught up with the last 4 pages of this thread. I may be naive but i'm genuinely just a bit surprised at the level of animosity being directed at anniebach. I've had my share of on line disagreements with annie, who expresses her views strongly but honestly, SHOUTING in capitals, accusing her of "rambling again" and making persistently unpleasant comments about "your friend/your Uncle Neil"
Is it necessary to be so unpleasant and aggressive to one poster who has shifted her views on Jeremy, been very open and clear about the why's and wherefore's of that change of mind. Asking anniebach whether she s living in the eighties, whether Hatton and Galloway have/or are allowed to change their views etc - all in a very confrontational manner does seem a bit over the top.
By the way, there is no evidence that either Hatton or Galloway have changed their views and become more balanced, likeable individuals than they were before.

Even funnier is the coterie of right-leaning cheer-leaders that are being kept entertained.

I have and am being bullied and wish to say I have not received bullying from those of the right and right of centre , and centre left, it has all come from the far left posters , which proves my point on far left and militants never changing their spots .

If as you say, Hatton and Galloway have not changed their views, they will not be allowed back into the Labour party. I have said that lots of times but still get accused of being a member of Momentum and wanting to let them back in.

Annie spends lots of time telling us of her credentials in the Labour Party, all the friends she has. She says Neil Kinnock is her friend, tells us about all the MPs she has met and had discussions with. Why should we not mention that?

Mention that ? mocking by calling Kinnock my uncle, I did not choose to be born and brought up in a constituency close to Neil's constituency, I did choose to become a Labour party member, I did choose to accept appointments on Welsh labour committees, I did choose to canvass in Mid Wales, South Wales and West Wales, I did not choose which MP's came to these constituencies to canvass for the party, I did choose to attended party conferences, I did not choose who I was introduced to, I did not choose my parents friends in politics, I did choose to accept them as friends.

durhamjen, I have read many posts suggesting that those who support the way the Labour party is being led currently is a move back to the 80's. I've posted similar comments myself because like others, I lived through that period. I supported Michael Foot who was a decent, honourable man. I don't have the same admiration for Jeremy Corbyn, nor the Dianne Abbot or John McDonnell and have said that on the various threads you refer to. I usually avoid getting into pointless and often personal disagreements on gransnet but I do feel the personal attacks on anniebach are so unpleasant I said so.
I'm interested in discussing the reasons why so many life long Labour party members and supporters are unhappy with the current leadership whilst many are pleased with the move to the left. I 've lost the enthusiasm for that given what I do see as bullying of one person. Annie has always referred to her family connections to well known Labour figures from the past. There is no need for any of us to respond to that if we don't like it.

That it is an anti-war party and is against the proliferation of weapons. How many times must I say I fear the rise of the far right, I do not believe the answer to fighting it is by turning far left , the country will not want a far left government, it's what you want but it is not what the majority want and it's the majority who will elect the next government .

Sometime ago you said you understood about people feeling threatened by immigrants, do you still think that? If so what is your response to the free movement of people? I believe in it because I do not believe that this is what is responsible for the state of our economy, the housing crisis or the crisis with school places. I think exactly the same arguments are being used against immigrants as were once used against Jews and the only person I can see speaking out or advocating free movement is Corbyn. I think the only way to counter people's fears is to actively speak out for freedom and human rights.

Yes I do understand people's fears of immigration, and lecturing a person on human rights will bring the response - what of my human rights ? You cannot allay fears by lecturing , fears have to be understood, accepted and eased with reassurance.
