If you have a worry/problem or are concerned about an injustice ,voice your concerns and the person you voice them to replies 'I Will Deal With It' what would you expect?

Smileless2012 Wed 26-Jul-17 10:35:34

Well I've never chanted "oh how we remember strong and how we remember stable, where are they now?" gg and as for your first paragraph well I think that's an extremely apt description of you.

Words matter, even just a few which is the premise of the OP; if someone says 'I'll deal with it', what would you expect.

Thank you Eloethan for answering my questionsmile.

Yes Primrose to stop the discussion or at least put posters off who have a different opinion.

What really annoys me roses is when a question is asked of a poster to the thread and not the poster directly.

Some people complain about threads becoming too personal.
Some people want it to be personal.
Can't win.

Oh I'm pleased the Tories dropped the policies. Unfortunately there will be people who think this is an example of how caring and listening they are, it isn't . It's a cynical gesture to cling on to power and much the same as bribing the DUP and both of them are despicable.
If we are debating what "I will deal with it" means in minute detail could we also look at what "Strong and Stable" actually means.
I will volunteer this - "Strong" we will depend on the votes of a few MPs whose beliefs would take us back to the Stone Age and then only because we have bought them
"Stable" we will shilly -shally between policies making things up, dropping things we think will not make us as popular as we would like to be, and keeping the real policies at our heart a secret (apart from Jacob Rees Mogg who we can't shut up, but everybody thinks is a joke anyway)

Er, no. That's a different thread. It's called 'government watch'. It's very boring if every thread is the same.

durhamjen Wed 26-Jul-17 11:26:03

Government watch has reached a thousand posts, so we need a new one if we can't debate strong and stable on here.

It's all about what politicians say and then don't stick to - except that Corbyn is being berated for not sticking to a promise that he can't keep because he isn't in power.

Here's an idea. All those of you who think he goes back on promises should vote for him at the next election so that you can find out if he keeps his promises better than Maybot.

trisher Wed 26-Jul-17 11:39:30

Exactly Primrose65 so perhaps a little real debate rather than' Corbyn doesn't mean what he says although I don't understand it anyway.
Perhaps you could post some ideas about how student debt will or should be handled.

I suppose it depends on whether or not calling someone 'parochial' is thought to be an insult - it could be a compliment.
I had a friend who said she was 'proud to be parochial', she had had enough of being 'worldly'.

And saying that posters are 'playing games' which is an attempt to invalidate other opinions.

I haven't heard any chanting either.

durhamjen Wed 26-Jul-17 11:56:43

Exactly, Jalima. Some of us care about what's happening in the world; others don't.

Just seen an interesting post about Tories saying they would abolish tuition fees.

skwawkbox.org/2017/07/26/tories-promised-to-abolish-tuitionfees-wheres-that-in-media-now/

Anyone complaining about that gross u-turn?

durhamjen Wed 26-Jul-17 11:58:37

For those of you who don't like to read links.

Signed by George Osborne.

rosesarered Wed 26-Jul-17 12:05:18

Start a new Government Watch djen .......The Argy Bargy has reached a thousand posts too.grin A new one has been started.

durhamjen Wed 26-Jul-17 12:06:18

Corbyn is looking happy.

rosesarered Wed 26-Jul-17 12:07:59

Yes, but......he didn't win!

durhamjen Wed 26-Jul-17 12:16:28

Maybot has lost, though. All her authority has been squandered by her own foolishness.

rosesarered Wed 26-Jul-17 12:24:32

She is PM though, and JC isn't. Nobody seriously thinks that he actually won do they?

rosesarered Wed 26-Jul-17 12:25:29

I agree about her foolishness though.

The video on here is worth watching.

Smileless2012 Wed 26-Jul-17 12:25:48

No he didn't win; oh dear do we really want a man to be PM when he doesn't realise that he lost the last general election. Not for me so no dj I wont be voting for him at the next general election just to see if he can keep the promises he makes, even though the country can't afford them, and he didn't know how much they'd cost in the first place.

TM has without question damaged her authority but she didn't lose the GE, her party won.

We all care about what's happening in the world; a political allegiance that differs from your own doesn't mean that the person who holds it doesn't care.

rosesarered Wed 26-Jul-17 12:27:04

She will be replaced at some point in the next year I should think, but having said that, you never know, and she could do well, and make a comeback, and thus stay.

rosesarered Wed 26-Jul-17 12:28:04

Well said Smileless

Smileless2012 Wed 26-Jul-17 12:30:07

Yes roses I mean if JC could turn things around although not well enough to win the GE, whose to say TM can't do the same thing and stay as PM.

Primrose65 Wed 26-Jul-17 12:32:24

jalima I seem to attract more insults every day. I take them all as a badge of victory - people throw personal insults when they have nothing of consequence or interest to say.

Smileless2012 Wed 26-Jul-17 12:36:51

Yes Primrose "people (do) throw personal insults when they have nothing of consequence of interest to say". How many badges of victory do you have? I seem to have acquired quite a fewgrin.

Smileless2012 Wed 26-Jul-17 12:41:51

Of course JC looks happy in that post dj the poor deluded man doesn't seem to understand that he lost. If the 1st, 9th, 13th, 14th and 15th lines were deleted he would be talking about his own party.

gillybob Wed 26-Jul-17 12:45:37

Good for you Primrose there is an old saying that "if they're picking on you, they might be leaving someone else alone" grin

MamaCaz Wed 26-Jul-17 12:46:29

Obviously Corvyn didn't win in the strict sense. However, seems to me that the Tories must be feeling very threatened by him - I can't see any other reason why a newly elected Government would be putting so much effort into trying to discredit him when there are so many more pressing issues to be dealt with. Not unless it is to draw attention away from the current parlous state of the country, much of which is a direct result of their own actions over the past 7 years. Or they foresee another General Election much sooner than they would dare to admit?
