It is not given to me to start a threads on politics, I don't believe I have ever contributed to one either.
However I cannot let pass the comment from a conservative councillor currently skiing in the USA who wants the homeless and rough sleepers cleared from the streets of
Windsor before the wedding in May.
God forbid that visitors here to see an obscene and ostentatious picture of wealth and privelage should be confronted by the "have nots" of our society.

I agree, Wilma. All the 25 year olds I know would never dream of thinking along those lines, let alone think it's acceptable to say so on the internet.

But when you join a politicl party, you don't normally do so on your own, so she must know others who think like her.

Like that would be UKIP wouldn’t it?

Anniebach Sun 14-Jan-18 18:44:49

Maryeliza, please let it drop, if I am bored other posters must be very bored, all I said was the details were not given in the opening headlines, I was correct, end of .

Bridgeit Sun 14-Jan-18 18:46:22

I have been shocked to find in the work place that many young woman have such ignorant & bigoted opinions regarding this subject.I do find it unbelievable that it's still an issue in today's society.( or perhaps they try to use it as an excuse to justify their own shortcomings & jealousises

Day6 Sun 14-Jan-18 18:47:27

"I think I have probably sworn three or four times all the time I have been on Gransnet, Day6."

Likewise DJ, yet you are quick to condemn it in others, especially those who hold different political views from yours. I was chastised by you. Just making the point. Double standards ain't nice

As for smelling salts maryeliza, do get a grip. We are grown, worldly wise women and have raised children in a world where swearing is (unfortunately) fairly commonplace. You are suggesting bad language is the preserve of the left (?)and that right wingers will be shocked by it. Many don't like to hear bad language, whatever their political leaning, but you painted a picture of right wingers as being prudishly narrow minded.

Such sweeping generalisations like yours might conversely imply that people see left wingers like you as having extreme views which espouse violence or death towards those who disagree with you - as seen in Manchester not many months ago. We wouldn't want that now, would we?

Caricatures are not helpful. I suspect you agree.

Ffs - ab WHAT YOU HAVE POSTED YET AGAIN IS NOT TRUE. I’m NOT lying so by definition you must be and are being either obtuse, obdurate or provocative. I think those whose opinion I respect on here will know who to believe and your playground mates will back you whatever you say.

durhamjen Sun 14-Jan-18 18:52:04

I really don't understand that post, Day6, but don't explain, as I don't think I want to.

Anniebach Sun 14-Jan-18 18:53:31

I don't do playgrounds and I have never said you lied maryeliza, I repeat all I have said is the details were not given in the news headlines and they were not, why would they read all that then repeat it in the main news ? Think about it.

maryeliza54 Sun 14-Jan-18 18:53:57

It was eazy who said she found ffs offensive and told me to stop saying it. Oh no wait a minute, I must be lying again. Your post day is so full of non sequiturs it’s almost amusing.

Day6 Sun 14-Jan-18 18:55:00

"Ffs day you know very well the point I was making - you obviously found abs posts completely acceptable. Jolly good."

Wrong again. You keep barking up the wrong tree. Maryeliza. I have not being following your obsessive line against ab having joined this thread at the end and being more concerned about the nasty Meghan Markle remarks.

Your dog-with-a-bone approach to discussion does you no favours.

Bridgeit Sun 14-Jan-18 18:55:05

I guess the wedding is off then , at least on here!!!!!!!'??

Whereas abs obsession does her all the favours she needs. I’m bloody fed up with being called a liar - what’s to obsess about? Of course you’d accept it wouldn’t you? Especially if it came from me ? Ha bloody ha - more hypocrisy

Anniebach Sun 14-Jan-18 19:01:10

No maryeliza, mcem posted the reading from the main news and then posted there was a statement in the first few seconds . I am not going to continue with this, I posted what was correct , there are far more important things to discuss than your constant foot stamping so please stop goading

Bridgeit grin

Anniebach Sun 14-Jan-18 19:13:02

Why have headlines followed by full news if the full news is given in the headlines ? Rather odd surely and certaintly repetitive

Anniebach Sun 14-Jan-18 19:15:25

Oh dear me, my faith, Friday was rather obsessed with that . Come to think of it she/he didn't stay long did she/he

durhamjen Sun 14-Jan-18 19:21:19

As in Good Morning Friday?
On every week.
Can't remember any other Friday.

Anniebach Sun 14-Jan-18 19:25:27

I am sure it was Friday, unless it was .rigsby, no he/she left ago

Chewbacca Sun 14-Jan-18 19:30:37

Yes Annie, your memory is correct, there was a poster called Friday. They haven't posted for a while.

Anniebach Sun 14-Jan-18 19:38:18

Thank you Chewbacca, thought it was, that poster would keep on about me having a faith

mcem Sun 14-Jan-18 19:47:26

annie I quoted verbatim.
I did not in any way 'take sides'.
You were wrong.
In the past you've been honest enough to apologise when you were wrong. Why not now?
Please give me a reference as precise as mine were so that I have the opportunity to apologise if, as you say, I got it wrong.
R4 iPlayer at 6/7/8/9am ?

Jalima1108 Sun 14-Jan-18 19:53:25

Can't remember any other Friday.

Yes, I do remember a poster called Friday, appeared and then left just as suddenly .

Anniebach Sun 14-Jan-18 20:04:22

mcem, yes I always apologise if I am wrong or mistaken. I did look in BBC iPlayer but it's all tv.

so what you posted was read in the first ten seconds ? I am not accusing you of lying just trying to find out if I am correct in saying the news headlines are followed by the news in full, you posted what was said in the news in full, I am only trying to find out if it was also read in full in the first ten seconds.
