Who am I?

I am a Palestinian girl.

Before I was born, the occupation took most of my village’s lands to build a new settlement called Halamish.

Then they arrested my father. When my aunt went to visit him, one of the soldiers pushed her over the stairs of the court and she died.

Since I was little the settlers of Halamish keep stealing more and more of our lands to expand the settlement.

Our home has demolition order because it is in Area C. The settlers are allowed to build on our land, but not us.

In 2005, the settlers made the spring of our village part of the settlement and prevent us from using it, even though many of us are farmers.

All these things happened with great support from the Occupation army and government.

When the people of the my village started to resist the injustices with protest marches, my father was arrested again.
My mother was arrested too. My uncles, aunts, brothers, cousins - all of them were arrested too.

My cousin Mustafa was killed by the Israeli army. My uncle Rushdi was killed by the army too!

Later, an Israeli sniper shot my mom in the leg and she couldn’t move for long time.

Almost every week, the army breaks into our homes to arrest one of my family or to confiscate our laptops or phones.
During our marches, they shoot us with tear gas rubber bullets - my cousin is in hospital badly injured because he was shot in the face the week before.

A few days ago, two soldiers came to our house to take positions to shoot at the demonstrators from my village. I stood with my family to prevent them, the soldier pushed me and I slapped him.
And now I am in jail!
My mother and my cousin are in jail too!
The occupation government and media call me a terrorist.
Do you know who I am?

And what would you do if that was your life? Or the life of your child?

In the '90s we almost bought a small house in Eli, a Jewish settlement not far from Jerusalem. It was very cheap, and you could see why. There had to be constant armed border controls to defend from nearby Palestinian attacks.
Looking at recent reports, the same thing is going on now.
Wiki: " In 2013, representatives of the nearby Palestinian village of Krayot blamed Eli settlers for an alleged uprooting of more than 100 olive trees on their property.[8]

In January 2014, an Eli resident claimed to have photographed Palestinians chopping down an olive tree which a later report on Ma'an news blamed 'settlers' for the incident.[9][10][11]

In August 2015, a gas station was firebombed on Route 60 near Eli. Later, two Palestinian from Awarta, members of PFLP claimed the attack was a retaliation for the firebombing at Duma.[12][13]"
I confess I have no answer. But I wish Trump would keep his nose out - it doesn't help.
As I said earlier, other nations mixing in just makes things worse. They don't understand all the complications.
Who does?

You are so rightin saying it is hugely complicated.

But illegal occupation of Palestine land, destruction of villages and towns and the agricultural land they depend on, has to stop. A lot of Jewish people were illegally sold or mainly given land, WHICH belonged to Palestininians.

And now, this week- the Israeli GVT has given approval for more land grab, to build more towns and villages, to 'protect' the ones already built illegally on illegally occupied land.

What are the Palestinians to do- apart from fight- and yes, attempt to regain some of the lost land. Their water is even stolen to divert to the new settlements- so what they have left cannot be farmed. And even if some land is regained- you can't replant olive groves with trees 100s, even 1000s of years old.

What are the Palestinians supposed to do??? Shall we invite them to come and live in the UK then?

So why are they bombing each other Jura?

jura2 Mon 22-Jan-18 18:34:55

one is bombing the other to take their land and to protect the land they have illegally stolen- the other is bombing back because their land was taken, and more is planned to be taken...

Ah - I didn't phrase it very well, sorry.
Why are Palestinians bombing other Palestinians?
That's what I meant by each other!
