So sad lemon that there are still women who can't counter. a man's arguments.
When a man resorts to the language not even of the gutter but the sewers, then he has lost any argument.

I am surprised trisher, that you would attempt to defend this as I have never heard you resort to this yourself and, quite frankly I'm saddened that you think this poster's language is acceptable.

Oh, such indignity over a sentence (or part sentence) used on this forum by myself which does not even breach the rules. However, two days previous to my words the member "mawbroon" used the F*** word to which there was not one solitary complaint posted in the thread.

Mawbroon tried to justify that when challenged by myself by stating that she was responding to another member "in kind". So, two wrongs make a right.....do they.

I believe what we have witnessed over the last few days on this forum is not indignity in regard to what I have stated, but out and out sexism by a number of forum members, and it is as simple as that.

In the office again today, but do keep the comments and false indignity coming in as it amuses us all in coffee breaks etc. Staff believe it is far better than anything witnessed on Facebook or Twitter and a great advertisement for the forum.

Many thanks.

Mission accomplished

MawBroon Mon 17-Sept-18 08:27:38

Does it feed his innate sense of Male superiority I wonder?
And even “the office” must wonder what a 70 year old man is doing spending his spare time on a grandparents’ website.

Grandad1943 Mon 17-Sept-18 08:35:28

Because i am a grandparent. That would be "just ordinary logic to most people.

Anniebach Mon 17-Sept-18 08:37:40

Not worth bothering with. It’s how Momentum work.

This is just a taster of what chuka Umunna was referring to when he said ‘ call off the dogs’

This is the Corbyn/Momentum Party

Seems equality means women need to lower their moral standards .

The gutter is not the place for me.

nigglynellie Mon 17-Sept-18 09:07:30

Grandad, what baffles me is why you seem to think that any of us are even remotely concerned that you choose to use comments on these threads as some sort of butt for your office jokes even making it sound like some sort of threat, which is actually quite sad?! However, If it pleases you and makes you feel superior then carry right on because, do you know, bearing in mind that in the real world very few of us know each other or anything about each other on a personal level, I doubt anyone on here gives it a second thought.

MaizieD Mon 17-Sept-18 09:12:34

Goodness. All you pearl clutchers must live such sheltered lives shock

Anniebach Mon 17-Sept-18 09:12:52

best to ignore, we are disagreeing with someone who called the deaths of 144 people ‘ an event’

Anniebach Mon 17-Sept-18 09:14:47

No Maizie, we just have moral standards, sadly missing in some.

nigglynellie Mon 17-Sept-18 09:51:32

Exactly annie, F'ing and blinding is bad enough and quite unnecessary, but calling people, any people, by lavatory names is going far too far and plain disgusting!

Anniebach Mon 17-Sept-18 09:54:05

niggly, all done to bring the thread to an end.

lemongrove Mon 17-Sept-18 10:13:37

It would carry more weight if those calling us ‘pearl clutchers’ and agreeing with Grandad43 were not actually very left wing hmm but as it is, it’s just a few agreeing with him because of political views, what sheep.
His ultimate threat is saying he shows ‘the office’ our comments ( wow, we are all scared by that one! Not.)
Our comments ( those of us who don’t like his language) are not sexist....not at all, we would feel the same had trisher or Maizie or anyone else had used it.

lemongrove Mon 17-Sept-18 10:14:55

If it’s brought to an end Annie we can start another one.

trisher Mon 17-Sept-18 10:21:09

MaizieD grin Pearlclutchers!!! Wish I'd thought of that. As it is I can't help thinking that somehow there's a hole in time and some of the posters on here have stepped through it.
But lemon a lot of the comments also refer to GD1943 being a man and posting comments to grannies. So there is a sexist element to this.
And yes I can see lots of people finding this hilarious and wondering where some of you live such sheltered lives.

Anniebach Mon 17-Sept-18 10:21:44

Yes lemon and the same would happen again, it’s planned in my opinion.

Anniebach Mon 17-Sept-18 10:23:04

Well played trisher,

trisher Mon 17-Sept-18 10:25:33

OMG are we now thinking there is some planned operation to silence threads on GN. Paranoia is setting in. Who on earth has the time to do that? And who would be bothered to do it? A case of over estimating your own importance I think.

Grandad1943 Mon 17-Sept-18 10:51:23

Strange how some are still making reference to my supposed expletives but still no condemnation of the "mawbroon" use of the f** word.
Therefore I will post again my comments from 7:32am this morning to further invite condemnation, or are we witnessing out and out double standard sexism in this forum

Oh GD1943 haven't you learned it's "do as I say", seldom "do as I do" and never 'do as you would be done by"

Anniebach Mon 17-Sept-18 11:06:15

It’s sweet to see friendships develope

MawBroon Mon 17-Sept-18 11:14:42

Oh dear Grandad perhaps you need to say it a third time grin

Just the place for a Snark!" the Bellman cried
As he landed his crew with care
Supporting each man on the top of the tide
By a finger entwined in his hair

Just the place for a Snark! I have said it twice
That alone should encourage the crew
Just the place for a Snark! I have said it thrice
What I tell you three times is true
