The Nasty Labour Party - what they really stand for.

Rod Liddle took Labour to the cleaners on Question Time. I fully agree with his assessment.

“I really wish that the people who were taken in by [Labour] and agreed with that, would look to the left beyond the podium and see the rabble with their Palestinian flags and their lanyards sponsored by Hamas, would look to the raft of hypocrites on the Labour front bench. Thornberry, Abbott, Chakrabarti – all of whom don’t want you to send your kids to private schools or selective schools but do so for their kids, and for Corbyn and McDonnell, who have given support and succour to every possible hostile, violent, anti-democratic terrorist regime or organisation they can. IRA, Hamas, Hezbollah, Soviet Union, Cuba, Venezuela.

If you want people like that running your country, vote for Corbyn.”

So, Day6 democracy is only worth Carrying out when it coincides with your beliefs and thinking.

Well, that's typical of extreme right-wing thinking. If democracy does not suit do condemn it and do away with it.

GG13.....fine n dandy, but he is a trained killer? yes ?

A truly unkind comment to the mother of one of our services personnel, old batty
Shame on you.

Anniebach Sat 29-Sept-18 19:59:49

GrannyGravy, you must be very proud of your son.

oldbatty Sat 29-Sept-18 20:03:27

no, no shame. Actually no, I wont accept that. Its a job , a career, they are not conscripts.

All this about learning trades and watching each others backs....yes because they may need to.

So don't tell me shame.

oldbatty Sat 29-Sept-18 20:04:23

I'm proud of my son, he's gay and he works with refugees.

MawBroon Sat 29-Sept-18 20:11:15

Every mother should be able to be proud of her child. I am not making comparisons and I think it is wrong to disparage anybody for the career they have chosen and their dedication to doing the best they can.

lemongrove Sat 29-Sept-18 20:12:27

Many of the ‘peaceloving’ brigade on the far left are disparaging of our armed forces, we have had this before on GN.Many times!
The forces offer a good life to their personnel, but yes, when we engage in wars and killing is necessary then they have to do it.They are not assassins oldbatty nor do they delight in deaths.
Any of us on here with family who have been in the services
Know a little more about it than left wing posters with nothing other than sentimental viewpoints.

lemongrove Sat 29-Sept-18 20:13:17

‘Gay and works with refugees’ ........ so what?

MawBroon Sat 29-Sept-18 20:17:04

To me, to cast aspersions at other members’ families, to insult them and make snide remarks is the absolute antithesis of what Gransnet stands for.
I am not sure I want to associate with people who enjoy that level of undermining and frankly b*tchy insult..

oldbatty Sat 29-Sept-18 20:17:46

I don't disparage, I draw attention to the fact that the armed forces are just that....people who are trained to take arms if necessary.

Lemon, how do we decide when " killing is necessary" because lets face it, the UK has got it badly wrong many times.

You know absolutely nothing about me lemon, I have family in the forces. Again a very ill educated and rude response.

lemongrove Sat 29-Sept-18 20:22:04

I agree Maw and then to add something about their own son, to hold it up as what? Superior?
Works with refugees. As the armed forces do at times. Telling us he is gay is hardly of any import.

MawBroon Sat 29-Sept-18 20:22:48

Forget it, you can’t take back your comment about a trained killer The damage is done no matter how much you backtrack.

lemongrove Sat 29-Sept-18 20:23:45

I doubt you know anyone in the forces oldbatty but I can’t be bothered to engage with you anymore at all.

oldbatty Sat 29-Sept-18 20:27:35

How about my parents and my husbands parents? Will that do? Oh yes and my Grandfather who was head of infantry in WW1?

Well yes a trained killer.....or they will be killed?

I think thats how it works.

Lemon, I have no wish to engage with you so bye bye.

oldbatty Sat 29-Sept-18 20:28:14

the damage is done...dont bloody care

MawBroon Sat 29-Sept-18 20:38:16

hmmhmm

MawBroon Sat 29-Sept-18 20:41:27

Thank goodness there are others who do care, who are kind and supportive to those of us in sadness or need.

oldbatty Sat 29-Sept-18 20:48:28

indeed thank goodness.

Anniebach Sat 29-Sept-18 21:01:56

there are gays in the armed forces.

GrannyGravy did not deserve that attack on her son, no mother does. What is wrong with some here, attacking forum members families .

The armed forces are called out to disasters , floods, roads blocked with snow, so many emergencies.

GrannyGravy’s son is a member of the UN Peacekeepers.

MawBroon Sat 29-Sept-18 21:04:21

Well said Anniebach
I was shocked that anybody could be so vicious.

Anniebach Sat 29-Sept-18 21:13:05

I find this forum at times poisonous , this is Corbyns gentler politics? Comparing today with the 1920’s. Calling fellow posters turds, accusing posters of lying,

Thank God for the many caring, fun loving, supportive members, otherwise this forum would be a most unhealthy place to visit.

The majority of the far left harp on and on and on about their compassion, oozing it, then in goes the knife.

These are Corbyn’s disciples.

trisher Sat 29-Sept-18 21:17:28

I'm shocked that someone should use her son to support the recruitment of children into the army. The UN has condemned this. No other European country does it. Countries like North Korea do it, oh and us!

Grandad1943 Sat 29-Sept-18 21:21:30

Anniebach (the closet tory) playing out with her obsession with Jeremy Corbyn again. Whatever the problem in the world its Corbyn and the Labour parties fault according to Annie. :-)

Anniebach Sat 29-Sept-18 21:24:43

Don’t start bullying GrannyGravy again trisher, I remember you did the first she posted. You talk about discussions? Codswhallop

Anniebach Sat 29-Sept-18 21:26:05

Been to a sewer again grandad 1943 ?
