Are you happy now?

Day6 Wed 14-Nov-18 22:04:30

Most Brexiteers on here will agree with anything Theresa May says

Utter tosh CrystalTipps.

IF May has acquiesced to Brussels, (IF) it will be the end of her career and the Conservative party will suffer in future elections.

Jeremy Corbyn would have signed us over to Brussels from day one if he'd been negotiating so the UK has been sold down the river (maybe) whichever way you look at it.

Do we want to be a vassal state of the EU? We had no say or clout when Cameron was in charge. If TM has sold out Brussels has us by the short and curlies forever more.

? - feeling better already. Thanks

MawBroon Wed 14-Nov-18 22:16:41

???

oldbatty Wed 14-Nov-18 22:32:21

vassal is a weird word

Jalima1108 Wed 14-Nov-18 23:10:27

every word is weird if you look at it for long enough.

Including weird

Try it!

Grandad

" It may well be that Labour remainers in Parliment will consider this proposal/deal is the best that they are likely to get, as against no deal crash out as the alternative.

Well, I am hoping that's what happens anyway (he says looking to the heavens)."
-

You sound as though you are thinking the agreement is the best bet on the table.

As a poster who believes in Corbyn/McDonnel economics and renationalisation the alternative of Remaining in the EU which is being mooted by " some ' in Labour such as Thornberry and Starmer would be a disaster for Labour surely given the State Aid Regulations. Hence Corbyn has flip flopped but nobody takes him seriously.

POGS Thu 15-Nov-18 00:05:18

PS

The State Aid position is probably the only reason I would vote Remain again because if Labour ever got into power I don't see how they could fulfill their promises to renationalise.

I've only just stumbled across this thread and was assuming, judging from the passive aggressive title of the OP, that it would be yet another diatribe on the woes, perils and pitfalls of Brexit. But I'm delighted to find that's it's a mad house! grin I think you've all been very solicitous in distracting the OP from the very subject that has caused her so much anxiety in the past and, as she said on an earlier thread, she has been advised by her medic not get too involved, so well done everyone! smile

Jalima.... no more nom nom noms please. hmm

janeainsworth Thu 15-Nov-18 01:50:31

chewbacca grin

kittylester Thu 15-Nov-18 07:05:04

I wish I'd know there were so many mushrooms in here. I only got one with my breakfast yesterday.

MawBroon Thu 15-Nov-18 07:32:19

grin
You can depend on GN to move seamlessly from the sublime hmm to the ridiculous (or something)

GrannyGravy13 Thu 15-Nov-18 07:44:58

Just watched part of Barnier and Tusk press conference, they both looked extremely "smug".

Send some ???? to H of P, the lunatics that are running the asylum might make more sense with some "magical" help????

petra Thu 15-Nov-18 08:07:35

I think there's more than just a little schadenfreude in the OP.

jura2 Thu 15-Nov-18 09:36:14

Why- the OP was very polite and restrained. If some of you see it as Schadenfreude, it must be because they perceive it as a not very good/bad deal. Not the OP's fault- as it where.

You could have replied 'yes, we are, brilliant deal- just what we wanted' If you wished - so why didn't you?

What out for those mushrooms. As an expert in the field- and yes, I know, experts are not well received these days- those are poisonous.

MawBroon Thu 15-Nov-18 09:49:15

Polite and restrained - but more than a bit sarcastic too (no?)
But I can understand your disappointment.
I think few people will be genuinely happy with this proposal - least worst seems to be the best opinion I have read.
Sadly nobody though has taken up little DGS’s offer
“Are you happy, mummy?”
“Want a cuddle?” ?

Lazigirl Thu 15-Nov-18 09:51:11

I think May is madly fiddling on the UK deck whilst her orchestra desert her. Problem is we’re all in this boat. ?

jura2 Thu 15-Nov-18 09:52:09

oooops apologies for typos in previous post.

If you read it as sarcastic MawB - then it is your choice.

Lovely sunny day- so will do as Doc ordered (merci Catherine).

MawBroon Thu 15-Nov-18 09:54:16

I did try sad

PECS Thu 15-Nov-18 09:59:01

I think disappointed &resigned is how I feel. It is like rolling down a hill towards an edge.. but you have no idea if it is rocks or sand on the other side!

jura2 Thu 15-Nov-18 14:08:26

if anyone today says that is what they wanted- then I'd have no answer.

So, with friends like that Theresa, who needs enemies.

So Corbyn is supporting her- and her own 'friends' are digging the knife in.

Tell you one thing, which many of us will agree perhaps - she has been incredible, more colliones that all of them put together- and as a Diabetic- I have no idea who she keeps going on. She will never get my vote- but she certainly has won my admiration-

jura2 Thu 15-Nov-18 17:28:18

Watching her speech what will happen.

A very brave woman.

lemongrove Thu 15-Nov-18 17:34:55

Nothing will happen, (today at least it seems) TMay will carry on.
Wonder if Gove will accept the post of Brexit Sec?
It may well be a good deal, but Parliament is unlikely to back it.If not, we will likely leave without a deal....unless Gove can manage to tweak a few things.

jura2 Thu 15-Nov-18 17:48:28

'tweak a few things' wow lemon - I am speechless (or rather, it is better if I don't say it) sad

lemongrove Thu 15-Nov-18 18:09:10

The tweaking is needed in just a couple of things ( I actually support this deal) and think if the backstop was worded so that we could get out...and a date was set, Parliament may look more kindly on it.As it is, they may well not do, so changes need to be made to it.
Not like you to be speechless jura and apart from not leaving ( your preferred option!) what would you change about the deal?

lemongrove Thu 15-Nov-18 18:11:35

Yes, Jane and Maw if extreme Leavers and extreme Remainers are against it.....it must be an ok deal. grin
