"There will be NO renegotiation!" says Juncker for EU. Let us get out NOW!

So, the EU will tie us to them forever and tell us when we can leave, and which trade deals we broker with other countries are acceptable.

I really, really hope there is a well-developed plan B, because our dealing with the WTO has to be the best deal for the UK.

NO DEAL has to be the way forward.

I think we are seeing just how tied and powerless we will be if we allow Brussels to continue to pull our strings.

GrannyGravy13, yes Britain does still have free speech, and that free speech should be allowed to let this nation decide if the electorate want TMs deal, no deal or the deal we have now.

That would be true free speech.

When we imported a motohome from the US we knew what the tariff would be before the ship docked in Southampton.
When we moved most of our household goods to Bulgaria ( not then in the eu) we had to list every single item. The carriers told us what the import duties would be. When we went to customs clearance they looked at the waybill, opened a few crates and then we paid.
Surely most of the goods coming in wil be from trusted traders. Therefore the majority of goods will not be checked, just the same as now. Or am I missing something?

It’s not just in the US where the UK has become a laughing stock thanks to Brexit.

On the season finale of Germany’s Heute Show, a loose adaptation of America’s The Daily Show, host Oliver Welke announced the winners of the “Golden Dumbass (Goldener Vollpfosten) of the Year” awards.

Alongside Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Donald Trump, who won for the fourth-consecutive time, was the whole of the UK.

Welke declared the UK was now “the most confused island in the world” because of its botched attempts to leave the European Union.

There is a video on the internet showing Tony Benn speaking about the effect of us joining the EU. It turned our trade surplus with Europe from a surplus to a defecit and the loss of 500,000 jobs.

There's something wrong with your link.
The heading is German comedy show surely this is a contradiction in terms confused

Grandad1943 Thu 20-Dec-18 18:51:51

GrannyGravy13, we joined the "Common Market" many years ago. It's now history, and we are where we are as far as Britain is in relation to its trading today.

Therefore before we "jump off the Brexiteirs" cliff, we should allow this nation to give it's opinion on if that is the way electorate wish to go, now we are in possession of far more of the facts.

Had the referendum been the other way round by exactly the same margin, obviously run under the same rules, confirmed by Parliament by a large majority, undoubtedly it would have been perfectly legal, the margin totally acceptable and the population fine upstanding folk. Obviously the promises given by D.C, with the approval of the H of C were in fact to prevent, in the event of a close run thing, leavers rearing up and demanding another vote. Unfortunately this cunning plan actually back fired dramatically, and so now, remain are having to wriggle round declaring that leave won on lies, homophobia, the uneducated, racists, in fact anything does you can think of in order to break their parliamentary word in order to justify another referendum, even calling it a people's vote to sound more cosy and inclusive, and to make sure us ill educated folk know what it actually means!!! No, we're not the stupid etc etc ones, Parliament are, they are the arrogant fools for presuming that remain would win and that in the event of a narrow margin any dessent had been successfully silenced, well it has, only the wrong way round!!

crystaltipps Thu 20-Dec-18 19:09:22

Of course leave would have continued their hate campaign , Farage said as much. Dissent has not been silenced either way.

crystaltipps Thu 20-Dec-18 19:10:15

What’s undemocratic about having a vote?

varian Thu 20-Dec-18 19:15:52

Oh dear Petra if you don't think that the Germans have a sense of humour, I'm afraid you demonstrate the racism typical of leave voters.

lemongrove Thu 20-Dec-18 19:58:42

There you go again Varian the racism card, you really are like a broken record.
Only 100 days to go until we leave the EU! ?

lemongrove Thu 20-Dec-18 20:00:45

....and talking of ???I read that Junker ‘fell down’ grin once again at a dinner on Monday night. He really should take more water with it.

Joelsnan Thu 20-Dec-18 20:01:51

Out of order!

petra Thu 20-Dec-18 20:01:58

Oh dear Varian you couldn't be more wrong. I've not long spent the past 6 weeks in the company of mostly Germans in Andalusia, and very good time we had ?
Sence of humour bypass on your part.

petra Thu 20-Dec-18 20:09:59

Lemongrove & Joelsnan
Thank you for your posts but as we all know the word 'racist' has lost all its strength now, and the more angst I hear/see from 'some' wink posters, I know we're winning the battle.

varian Thu 20-Dec-18 20:10:28

It doesn't take much to rouse the little GN leavers gang.

oldbatty Thu 20-Dec-18 20:12:03

Which battle Petra?

lemongrove Thu 20-Dec-18 20:13:19

Petra wink

petra Thu 20-Dec-18 20:32:22

Varian
I don't know if you are referring to our height or numbers.
If it's numbers then I think you will find that GN established that there were more leavers than remainers ( on GN) oh, and in the country grin

crystaltipps Thu 20-Dec-18 20:35:38

Probably IQs

oldbatty Thu 20-Dec-18 20:37:50

petra, if you love your country so much why do you keep leaving it?

One could almost call you a part time leaver.

petra Thu 20-Dec-18 20:39:14

Lemon
I meant to say in reference to the beloved leader (druncker Juncker) I thought he just looked a bit tired and emotional ?

lemongrove Thu 20-Dec-18 20:40:11

What a ridiculous and snobbish remark crystal
It seems that a few Remainers on GN will stoop to any old insult.
When we leave the EU in March, perhaps only then will the vitriol settle.

lemongrove Thu 20-Dec-18 20:41:17

Yes I know Petra why is the man still in office?

crystaltipps Thu 20-Dec-18 20:41:58

Don’t hold your breath. This sh*tshow will take decades
