The whole EU is facing difficulties in the next 18 months to 2 years.

Germany are fed up with financing the EU zone (especially when the UK finally leave). Greece is bankrupt and Italy are defying Brussels and refusing to bring their deficit under control. France are spending billions trying to stop widespread civil unrest (the yellow jackets) and have breached EU spending rules.

Will Brussels try and bring France into line as they are trying with Greece and Italy. There is 38% youth unemployment in Spain. migration is rife throughout Europe and the Germans have had enough and are getting rid of Merkel.

If we stay in the EU our contributions will continue to increase. The EU zone is shrinking who in their right minds wants to stay?

Why would anyone want to have to bail out the Euro, as will be the case before long? The EU is very unstable and reading about it would seem Macron is trying hard to become top dog, given Merkel's influence is waning and likely to be non existent before long.

All the large contributing states (I mean countries - or do i?) of the EU are propping up the ones which contribute very little, even though the internal affairs of the bigger countries you have mentioned are far from stable.

It IS good news that we intend to Leave. (The manner in which we are doing it is appalling.)

On the contrary. I think you'll find that the UK would have an obligation if we remained. and another Greek situation arose. It's highly likely as well given the unstable Euro.

It is exactly for the sake if those who follow us that leavers voted as they did. We get out now and have a good chance of establishing a sound and effective economy before the faltering EU ship finally sinks and the remaining countrys will collectively scramble to achieve what we have already achieved without having to compete with all the others for trade deals etc. Never in centuries of history have large empires continued, the Ottoman, Greek, British Commonwealth etc. They all fail eventually and reform as different entities. Those with foresight understand this and are happy for Uk to preempt the collapse.

The EU is not an empire. It is a large group of democratic countries who work together for the good of all.
I wish you would take all of the obvious data as literally as my last post then you may realise your EU Utopia is actually an Hades for many. Do you ignore the ground level unrest happening throughout the EU? Why do you think the EU political class are making it so hard for UK to leave when we have apparently been a thorn in their side since joining? Its because the UK is the bung in the dam. We leave and the flood gates will open and all the exploited workers of the EU will put the greedy politicians and only for profit industries back in their boxes.

I think the young people in Spain/Italy/Portugal and the Mediterranean coast of France would disagree with that statement of fact.
Then of course we have the Greeks who have, and who still are being shafted by the German banks.
I'm sure you know what I'm talking about as it's been reported in the Mail and Express as to how much profit the German banks are making on the loans.
Last but not least, let's not forget how the Greek people have been abandoned to cope with the migrant crisis.

Well thank you for your good wishes, we have had a little windfall here at Lily Towers which has lifted our spirits considerably.

I’m just happy we are Leaving very soon.

This has been a long and tortuous process and I’m delighted we are nearly Out (even though there will be years of ‘deals’ to sort out).

Did I say I was debating here? It would be stimulating to have a cogent discussion on here, but all you get from the opposing views are constant repeats of the really boring unproven anxiety laden tropes and mantras.

A lot of people who believe that youth unemployment is really high in EU countries ( and use that as a criticism of the EU) don’t realise that students are counted as unemployed in Spain and elsewhere, whereas in the U.K. students are not included as unemployed they are “. economically inactive”. Another trick of the statistics.
