More than one in five persons in the UK workforce now are employed in the Gig Economy but are classed as full time self-employed.
Those people have no guaranteed hours, no sick pay, no holiday pay and no maturity or paternity rights. That is the nature of employment in Britain today and are hidden in the Tory employment figures.
The terms that these poor employers offer under Gig Economy employment make up a large part of what is known as "the race to the bottom."
