After watching her speak I now believe another referendum is needed.
1/Mrs May's deal
2/ No deal
3/ Stay in the EU
Let the voters decide

I cannot stand the way TM presumes to tell us what we want od what we think. I hope she will be told on Saturday what the British people want. I wonder how many of us need to march before she listens?

NfkDumpling Wed 20-Mar-19 21:30:28

It’s not just Mrs May’s deal though is it. It’s the EU deal too. It’s what they were prepared to agree to and there’s no way they’re prepared to budge from it or give any more whatever Mr Corbyn et al believe. Mrs May did her best to get what she could out of them and that’s it. Take it or leave it. How often do they have to say it before it sinks into those conceited, self-opinionated MPs heads.

Jane10 Wed 20-Mar-19 21:36:50

Quite right NFKDumpling! I thought that last speech of Theresa's exactly expressed what I am feeling. She's speaking for me.

jura2 Wed 20-Mar-19 21:48:45

Take it or leave it Nfk - agree- leave it and remain- now we all know that it is the very best deal on the table, and the solution to so many massive isssues we face- together.

Jane, the Union is better, as you said- we are stronger together.

NfkDumpling Wed 20-Mar-19 21:53:17

I”m not at all sure that remain is still on the table as far as the EU are concerned. I haven’t heard it mentioned lately (by them) as an option. But then, I’ve been on holiday and had two blissful Brexit free weeks!

varian Wed 20-Mar-19 21:55:37

I hope that Revoke and Remain will be talked about after Saturday.

GabriellaG54 Wed 20-Mar-19 22:31:44

As has been said by other remainers, the sun will still rise and set, we will still eat, work and sleep and I, for one, am not in the least bit worried. I'm free, healthy and can trapse through any amount of mud to get the best out of this situation.
Remember folks, (that word neatly covers the LBGQT posse too) that MPs live here too. They buy all the things we buy, pay tax, travel, use the NHS...blah blah.
Do you honestly think they would deliberately try to harm their lifestyles as they will have to live with whatever consequences arise, as will we.
Remember the kerfuffle about metric weights, new money not £sp.
We'll surmount whatever obstacles we have to.
All this chat is not going to alter anything as you and I have no power to change the inevitable.
It's all in the hands of the suits and, don't forget that Junker, Barnier and Co are hanging on to us like grim death. If they thought we were useless partners, they'd have released their grip long ago.
Think about it and have faith. All will be well...in the end.

Gonegirl Wed 20-Mar-19 22:35:03

I'm not worried either. confused

Gonegirl Wed 20-Mar-19 22:36:07

I voted remain, but...... whatevs. [shrug]

crystaltipps Thu 21-Mar-19 06:15:31

Of course the well off will be fine and those on struggle street will continue to struggle, but doesn’t mean we shouldn’t protest about the current crop of useless politicians who are intent on damaging the country whilst feathering their own nests.

‘Next’. profits fall but boss says Brexit is not the reason as it is not affecting spending.
??

Labaik Thu 21-Mar-19 18:16:42

I'm just watching the news saying the army is being mobilised in the event of a no deal brexit which is looking more and more likely. And, for that reason I'm finding this thread more and more offensive...

Day6 Thu 21-Mar-19 18:16:48

I heard that too Urmston, Apparently Next shops aren't doing as well but online shopping/spending has increased. Brexit is not to blame.

Gone are the days when people would go into town and visit lots of shops and lug heavy bags around for hours. The comfort of our own armchairs and our electronic devices will bring about the demise of shops unless they have an online presence.

That's progress for you. sad I do try to support independent concerns though.

I am a big fan of online shopping! And Brexit.

Day6 Thu 21-Mar-19 18:18:47

Leavers will be popping champagne corks - so which rioters will the army need to quell Labaik?

Remainers?

Day6 Thu 21-Mar-19 18:20:05

Sounds like Project Fear mk vi to me....

Make people afraid is the mantra.

I'd be afraid if we remained stuck in the EU.

andycameron69 Thu 21-Mar-19 18:20:56

me too Day 6.. a great post thank you..I am looking forward to Friday next week...WTO out we go despite all the chaos by traitor MPs.

The Ministry of Defence have opened a department in the No Deal office according to the news. I don’t think they’ve brought up the tanks and missiles yet.

I wonder what Parliament are going to make of the latest EU proposition to delay until 22 May provided they vote for the EU/May deal.

heavens to betsy, I am wearing slingbacks just in case i trip of some old cliff edge next week, it may happen in Bedfordshire....

Smugness is not attractive Andycameron
With a bit of luck we might still be in why anyone thinks it’s good to be a tiny isolated country making enemies all round, Ireland and Scotland would love to be away from us and I should think the rest of Europe is well pipped off We are the laughing stock of the world and I m about as ashamed of my country as I could be but I m glad you are so happy to see us go down the chute

Nandalot Thu 21-Mar-19 18:50:03

Gabriella, not all MP’s are in the same position as us and many keen leaver and no deal leaver MPs certainly are not. Ress-Mogg is estimated to have made 7million pounds since the referendum.

Urmstongran Thu 21-Mar-19 18:56:23

But BlueBelle you know you aren’t going to find the gloom and doom comments on this thread. It’s a happy place full of optimism for Brexit which is coming very soon. This isn’t to wind you (or other Remainer voters) up. It’s just that there IS good news out there - and here is where we like to share it!

Ginny42 Thu 21-Mar-19 19:00:22

The tone of this thread is now a total reversal of what some seek to project onto those who voted to remain in the EU - that we are disloyal to the UK.

However, I put it to you, that if you voted leave and you're still jubilant about leaving the EU next week - you don't care about what is happening to the UK and its citizens.

Joelsnan Thu 21-Mar-19 19:09:53

That is your opinion, and especially those who cannot seperate ‘wheat from chaff’
