They don't want you - just your money!

To be fair, the Queen didn't go to the last one.

Who are these Godparents that they must stay a State secret, assume the photos won't include them. Hardly worth turning up. Lets face it when we are told we often don't recognise half the names anyway.

Callistemon Sat 06-Jul-19 13:51:10

The Queen's appointments are arranged far more than weeks ago.
They should have consulted her diary first as she would put duty before even the christening.

Its not unusual for the RF to not attend all family dos en masse. They take turns to "represent"

merlotgran Sat 06-Jul-19 14:01:30

It's the silly game they're playing that annoys me.

Harry wants to protect his family from the glare of publicity so.....he announces that things are going to be done in private secret. Refusing to name the godparents when nobody gives a stuff just attracts more speculation. Maybe one of them is Nigel Farage. shock grin

The Instagram photos of feet, half a face etc., just make me feel he relishes in annoying people.

I used to blame Meghan for controlling behaviour but having seen some of her expressions in public, especially on the balcony at Trooping the Colour, I'm beginning to think it's the other way round.

I just wish the so called 'fans' would stay home and not give H&M the satisfaction of selling them short.

Its like facebook "vaguebooking" isnt it?

If you want something to be private you don't elude to it

GrannyGravy13 Sat 06-Jul-19 16:35:13

Christening photos have been released

Gonegirl Sat 06-Jul-19 16:45:38

Ooh1 I must have a look. Daily Mail here I come.

GrannyGravy13 Sat 06-Jul-19 16:46:42

Gonegirl these were on the BBC website.

I am not usually that much interested in royal affairs, but I do feel that H&M,are being very foolish at present.

I can full understand why both of them have an antipathy of the press, both have been badly damaged and suffered from press coverage. I know Harry thinks they contributed to the death of his mother and his wife must still be bruised from the way her father and the press together have treated her.

But I think they also need to realise that being a member of the RF brings with it both kicks and halfpence - and they need to get a balance. A house on the royal estate at Windsor has been expensively refurbished for them, they, commendably wish to be a force for change through charitable work, especially in Africa.

If they want to be taken seriously, they need to play their part and allowing a few pictures of their new born son, that show him and his face, some public pictures of his christening andwho his god parents are, is part of the deal.

merlotgran Sat 06-Jul-19 16:49:15

Don't worry, Gonegirl. The DM has them as well. grin

notanan2 Sat 06-Jul-19 16:57:00

You cant act all "of the people" on your official visits and charity photo shoots then be too "private" to give the crowd a quick wave/glimpse.

So they hate the press.... fine... decline the royal life and avoid it, but dont expect to court it when it suits you!

Shunning the press comes across as shunning the people.

Fine if you are consistant... not fine when you try to sell yourself as "compassionate"

Gonegirl Sat 06-Jul-19 17:07:01

Such a sweet baby!!!

Nice that Tiggy was there too.

notanan2 Sat 06-Jul-19 17:07:18

Isnt it funny how the more minor royals are the ones who think that waving and smiling is "beneath" them. And the more major royals have more modesty and humility than to act like that!

Gonegirl Sat 06-Jul-19 17:09:47

Lovely pic. (from the Mail)

Gonegirl Sat 06-Jul-19 17:10:50

Ah! Didn't see Grannygravy has already put that one up. Still, can't view it too often can we? smile

Callistemon Sat 06-Jul-19 17:19:14

Christening photos have been released
Good!

Perhaps the same reasoning behind women being churched? Must not appear in public beforehand.

Callistemon Sat 06-Jul-19 17:20:36

Lovely photos

Gonegirl Sat 06-Jul-19 17:21:46

Ooh. There's a thought Callistemon. grin

Keeper1 Sat 06-Jul-19 17:27:09

I am not fussed who the godparents are I have no idea who the godparents for any of the royal children. All the fuss that was made about where she would give birth then ended up in the Portland why not just go to the Lido. They create more fuss with their secrecy then William and Kate and they have had three children and in line for the throne. I think someone has delusions of grandeur

HootyMcOwlface Sat 06-Jul-19 17:34:00

I read somewhere yesterday that C of E records are all publicly available, you just need to apply for a copy of a certificate and pay the fee. I’m sure one of the papers will do it and find out who’s listed as godparents.

Cherrytree59 Sat 06-Jul-19 17:39:11

Oh dear I was hoping for another piece of the Royal jigsaw puzzle!

A cute little bow shaped mouth would have been nice. grin

Lovely photo.
But here comes the but....
because Meghan is leaning in to Harry, my eye was drawn to the green back of the couch and the distance between her and Kate.
Photo appeared Imho a little lop sided.smile

Gonegirl Sat 06-Jul-19 17:41:10

When you look at the inner chair legs of Kate and Camilla's chairs, they are evenly spaced away from the couch. I think it's just that Kate is sitting more upright, and is thinner than Camilla.

Gonegirl Sat 06-Jul-19 17:43:10

I suppose Meghan needed that big cushion behind her to help support the baby. But it might have been better if they had been sitting in the centre of the couch.

Callistemon Sat 06-Jul-19 17:43:37

OMG

Detailed analysis grin
Do we have body language experts on GN? grin
