He was just joking, Lessismore
No, they are as shameless as he is.
Good Morning Monday 11th May 2026
I can imagine we will be horror struck as next week plays out. The cabinet will be a sight to behold.
He was just joking, Lessismore
No, they are as shameless as he is.
I’ve never joined FaceBook and I don’t do Instagram, snapshot etc so I done think my voting Leave was in any way influenced by adverts.
Regards Boris.
Reminds me of the Duke of Edinburgh with his ‘slitty eyed Chinese’ etc.
Yes, he makes mistakes. I don’t like everything he says.
That said, I’m not here to defend him. He’s a grown man.
I do like his politics though!
I'm not sure how anyone can really know what his politics are Urmstongran. They have just been talking about AI and elections on one of the programmes. The comment was that we used to accept politicians could be two-faced, now we have to realised the are fifty faced as adverts are tweaked to suit the individual. I have a feeling Johnson was well ahead of AI.
I hear they've removed the EU flags from around Parliament. Nice one Boris. Start as you mean to go on.
Now if only they would remove that idiot who walks up and down bawling ‘Stop Brexit’ at the top of his lungs.
You can hardly hear the interviews going on with him in the background.Mind you he does have some stamina I’ll give him that, and he must surely have a very sore throat.
Message withdrawn at poster's request.
And you can back off when it comes to Steve Bray lemon; he's worth a thousand of you.....
Is that his name? How do you know?
I certainly won’t back off btw I shall continue to say what I think.
You don't know who he is? Someone as clued up on all things political as you are? Crikey....
I knew his name. The EDL knuckledraggers recently destroyed his flag and belongings, which was reported in the media. He was able to buy new equipment from money donated by well-wishers.
PS. Exactly the same argument could be applied to Steve Bray's right to say what he thinks. There's no reason he should be bullied into "backing off".
'BORIS Johnson is caught up in yet another diplomatic scandal, after he was reported to have said "fuck business" when asked about fears over Brexit.
EU diplomats have expressed their shock and disgust at the comments, which they say came during a Foreign Office reception last week celebrating the Queen's Birthday.
Asked about the fears business leaders had over Brexit, Johnson replied: "Fuck business." ...has everyone forgotten this already? This is the man who is now PM of this country, and people are rejoicing..
I agree Lemongrove about the shouting EU idiot outside parliament and the topless glockenspiel man another EU supporting idiot no doubt. They need to cart them off with the EU flags.
You really aren't that interested in democracy are you, Firecracker
What some of you seem to find acceptable in your desperation to leave is becoming alarming to say the least.
The right to protest, with the symbol of your protest has been accepted as part of our democracy. But don’t let that stop you eh?
“If a developing country had just changed the government without an election, it would be called a coup. If that coup had been led by a man clearly unfit for office, and who can’t be trusted even by his own family to tell the truth, we’d be calling that country a failed state. “ Crace.
But those who care so little about our country that for the cult of Brexit will accept all that and more, regardless of what is happening to us.
Greater detail of Johnson’s statement.
Immigration
It is unclear what Johnson’s reforms mid mean, apart from a change to incoming EU migrants. Labour introduced a points system on 2008. Eligibility set by mandatory standards.
Education
School funding has hugely damaged the Tories, and was a big factor in the vote loss of 2017. Johnson has promised to increase the funding to previous levels. IFS estimate this will cost £4.6bn
GM foods
Not grown commercially in GB. No fresh veg/fruit approved for human consumption.
It is a strange strategy for Johnson to choose as 41% disapprove compared to 17% who approve. One wonders whether this is a sop to Trump.
Environment
It seems to be an issue that Gove has tried to make a key policy. It is notable that Johnson however went no further than May had promised in the statement.
Crime
20000 extra police. Extra stop and search powers.
NHS
Upgrade for 20 hospitals and winter readiness. Reduction of waiting times.
Is this where the £350million comes in?
No Deal
Gove to ramp up preparation for no deal.
Begin immediately to change the tax rules, to provide incentives to invest in research and capital.economic package to boost business.
Brexit and backstop
Johnson has boxed himself into a very tight corner. Just as may did with her red lines and lived to regret it.
He has been rebuff by Barnier in their first contact.
As an aside did anyone hear Mark Francois on newsnight last night use the phrase “ Herr Juncker in his bunker”?
I despair at the level of language. It is in the gutter.
I believe in democracy respecting the EU referendum vote.
What I don't like are the idiots outside the Houses of Parliament but obviously you do, well takes all sorts.
Perhaps you are one of Steve Brays supporters seems he has a few on here.
So a counter argument to the awful words spoken by BJ, is the Duke of Edinburgh says the same/worse, so it's ok.
Labaik that is very old news, and wasn’t ‘last week’ as you purport to show but some time ago.
Yes, it was a stupid thing to say, especially as everything he says get reported, something he will have to learn quickly as there is nothing he can now say, even privately that won’t leak out.
Ah yes Firecracker ?the glockenspiel man!
All the eccentrics seem drawn to that venue now.
Still, I vastly prefer that to the bawling man.
The EU play a very long game though WWM2
Lemongrove some Gransnet EU loving posters on here might even be there now waving their EU flags lol.
Laibak yes I’m off back to Spain tomorrow but what an unnecessaryily mean comment. You don’t know anything about my financial situation. Our small apartment here and the one in Spain would only fetch the price of a semidetached in the U.K. We are not rich! (money wise, but we are with health and family which is the main thing isn’t it.).
I’m 65y and my husband of 67y have been married 45y and no one has ever given us any money. We have not inherited anything. We worked hard, paid our dues and I’m lucky (because of good health and mobility) that we have never had to claim a penny in benefits from the state. I don’t even get my bluddy pension for another year!
We downsized 9 years ago and split the money from the sale of our house and it’s now in two very small places which I love. In fact, anyone could do it, if they chose to! We don’t have a huge garden to maintain, no fencing, gates, plants, ponds, guttering, a garage.
It was simply a lifestyle choice.
So stop throwing flamed spears my way. If you are envious, do the same as us. It’s a stress free way of life, no maintenance bills, tiny utility bills. Our flights are cheapies via Mr O’Leary. Our lifestyle gives us plenty of ‘me’ time to choose nice things to do. We decided to have less in the way of property so the tail doesn’t wag the dog as it were.
I know it wouldn’t suit everyone but it was our choice.
Here endeth the lesson.
????
Well it seems that Johnson has made his first enemy in Steve Baker , the architect who ensured that we didn’t leave the EU by heading the ERG. Eurosceptics are already stirring the soup by blaming Cummins who has called members of the ERG a “ delusional sub-set” and “ metastasising tumour”
The row underlines Johnson weak grip on the Tory party with a majority of 1 or 2 he needs to be cleverer than he has shown in his treatment of Baker.
