The papers are abuzz with speculation that there is to be one called this week! Here we go again...........

maddyone Mon 02-Sept-19 18:39:18

Bravo Urmstongran.

EnglishRose Mon 02-Sept-19 18:41:23

Yes we WILL, URM. I noticed some time ago these forms were heavily weighted against Brexit. Ah well. As I see it, amongst family, friends, and literally just about everyone I know, the butcher, the baker, the candlestick maker ? are the opposite.

Tomorrow we attend a The Brexit Party Rally locally. 2 friends have stood as Candidates, one has been accepted. Thousands of tickets have been sold. Standing room only, like the Rally in April. Farage will explain further policies and give his take on the past few weeks in parliament. My OH and I are joining 120 other villagers, and others from neighbouring towns and villages.

There are many more of us than you think ?

Urmstongran Mon 02-Sept-19 18:41:36

Thank you maddyone
??

I honestly feel we ARE about to Leave.

#about time

If Boris gets us out, Deal or no deal, (too much hysteria and fear mongering about the later) that’s what the majority want. If he fails, then Farage will not. Whilst splitting the vote in a GE is unadvisable, Farage and his growingly powerful Brexit Party is there as a cushion to fall back on. And Boris knows this fully.

lemongrove Mon 02-Sept-19 18:49:28

If the rebel MP’s still go ahead and rebel (!) then expect an announcement for a GE this week.

Riverwalk Mon 02-Sept-19 18:50:23

Spot on with your prediction just before the six o'clock news Urmstongran - do you have a hotline to No.10? shock

EnglishRose Mon 02-Sept-19 18:51:41

Riverwalk, I think URM just uses common sense and a lifetime of experience ?

varian Mon 02-Sept-19 18:53:13

Carole Cadwalladr tweets-

"He's going to call election. Those who broke the law before in charge again. Police missing. Johnson/Farage deal inevitable. People vs Parliament bollocks incoming...& electoral laws "not fit for purpose". Money untraceable. Facebook unaccountable. All foretold. All in plain sight"

Urmstongran Mon 02-Sept-19 18:55:01

Thank you for posting that EnglishRose

It’s inspirational!

The Remainer voters on GN are the most vociferous.

Doesn’t mean they are the majority! (although you’d think they were, wouldn’t you?)

?

Riverwalk Mon 02-Sept-19 18:56:10

Englishrose & Urmstongran you both seem very excited - fair enough as you voted out, but does it not worry you just a teensy weensy bit that the country is split asunder?

Or does that not matter as long as we brexit, no matter what, and everything will be fine in the end.

EnglishRose Mon 02-Sept-19 18:56:54

URM, generally I do find those in favour of Leaving to be the softer voices amongst us all ?

Urmstongran Mon 02-Sept-19 18:57:23

My cousin is Dominic Cummings. ....

Joke!
??

EnglishRose Mon 02-Sept-19 19:00:23

Riverwalk, the country is split asunder because politicians have failed miserably to uphold their original promises before and after the 2016 Referendum.

We were given a vote. Leave won. It was a fair fight, despite accusations from each side about the other. Those in power who give us their word have reneged on their promise and they, and only they are responsible for the state we are in now.

EnglishRose Mon 02-Sept-19 19:01:14

URM ..... ?

SirChenjin Mon 02-Sept-19 19:02:54

Hate to break it to you but the polls are showing that Remain is now the majority view.

EnglishRose Mon 02-Sept-19 19:04:46

I read the opposite on Facebook and Twitter today .... no one can trust Polls.... they told us remain would win in 2016, etc etc ......

lemongrove Mon 02-Sept-19 19:07:35

Hate to break it to you SirC that polls show the Conservatives are way in front of Labour should there be a GE any time soon.
If anyone (who previously would have voted for the Brexit Party) now decides to go back to backing the Conservatives now that Johnson is PM that it rises very high for them.

SirChenjin Mon 02-Sept-19 19:08:28

Not in the national polls.

I’m willing to bet you would be shouting from the rooftops if the referendum had gone the other way in 2016 and now the polls showed more people wanted to Leave. The right wingers would have donned their MUGA hats and we’d have another referendum next week. Away with your ‘don’t believe the polls’ - you’re fooling nobody (with any sense)

lemongrove Mon 02-Sept-19 19:08:58

So, if you do trust polls......

SirChenjin Mon 02-Sept-19 19:10:02

Yeah, they’re in front of Labour - so? That doesn’t translate to a parliamentary majority or that the majority of voters want to leave without a deal.

EnglishRose Mon 02-Sept-19 19:10:50

Rarely have polls been anywhere near accurate, but mist of the media, including the handful of unbiased ones are predicting at giant win for Boris at a GE.

EnglishRose Mon 02-Sept-19 19:12:08

Most....apologies. Proving the MAJORITY of voters are still Leavers ?

SirChenjin Mon 02-Sept-19 19:14:54

See my previous post

lemongrove Mon 02-Sept-19 19:15:25

It will translate to a Parliamentary majority if there is an GE and they do as well as expected.

Boosgran Mon 02-Sept-19 19:16:57

Absolutely Urmstongran well said! Agree 100%!
