Well that’s it. We’re not leaving the EU. The people in charge won’t allow it.

What the ‘people’ want counts for nothing.

I hope all the traitors & enemies of the people are happy. angry

No it isn’t to do with Bercow?it is to do with the fact that it relates to international ie EU law. Royal assent not needed.

WWMK2, if you are correct, it's another reason to leave the EU if their laws can supersede our parliamentary procedure.

I understood from Katya Adler last night that the EU will only deal with an elected government or its representatives.

I think things are getting muddled between us.

As far as I understand anything relating to international law so WTO, UN, EU etc etc does not require Royal assent.

Royal assent is only required for domestic law

SirChenin, just briefly going back to your question as to whether I think coming out of the EU will change the situation re supply of labour forcing down wages, I don’t know if leaving the EU will improve the situation for low paid workers, none of us know, but it seems very likely that we will simply source cheap labour from elsewhere rather than the EU. And so this brings us back to the EU’s support of big business, I would have hoped that this situation would have been addressed in some way by the EU, but it hasn’t.
