I just wondered if anyone else noticed this character on the front bench in parliament this evening. He has grown older since his school days, as we would expect, and lost some hair but the inane grin as the camera pans in is still there as are the schoolboy jokes and the bullies idea that silly names make him look clever.

I cheered up when I realised it was actually him, after all you only have to choose to look away and he will no longer exist.

I didn't know it was Bercow being body shamed. I thought it was Boris. Totally confused now.

MawB Thu 05-Sept-19 17:24:55

I rather thought you were joining in the stones already being thrown so childishly MawB. If you were really unaware of what had been happening yesterday I apologise although it does seem strange that you would then join in a politics thread

Now that really is patronising and insulting gracesgranMk3
I watched nearly two hours of that debate on Tuesday night and even if I hadn’t, I had read the newspaper before I headed off to London for the rest of the day.
You could have been talking about half a dozen people, hence my not unreasonable question - Which character and which front bench(there are two you know) - but you clearly thought yourself above this , perhaps too wrapped up in your not very amusing bon mot
Well it wasn’t that amusing, it was pretty nonsensical and it has contributed less than nothing to the content of a politics (as opposed to pathetic attempt at humour) thread.

Shoequeen53 Thu 05-Sept-19 17:31:26

Have you lot been at the gin?

Gonegirl Thu 05-Sept-19 17:40:52

No we bloody well haven't. angry

GracesGranMK3 Thu 05-Sept-19 19:04:34

No idea why you would see it as strange that I should join a politics thread. Thu 05-Sep-19 15:47:34

I think it is a problem of your comprehension not of post mcem. The post you refer to above has a name in it and it isn't yours. Not my problem if you can't identify yourself from others I'm afraid.

GracesGranMK3 Thu 05-Sept-19 19:05:26

I cannot stand it when someone adds an "Oh dear" to a thread.

... and you know it is coming from a very, very sad person.

GracesGranMK3 Thu 05-Sept-19 19:08:39

"Body shaming"?! Of Boris?!!!!

It wasn't really his body that caught my attention, thankfully. More his odd schoolboy manner. Even when he is being rude to some people he has a certain unctuousness about him as if he is trying to appease others.

MawB Thu 05-Sept-19 19:15:31

Even when he is being rude to some people he has a certain unctuousness about him as if he is trying to appease
Whereas you don’t Gracesgran ?

GracesGranMK3 Thu 05-Sept-19 19:24:37

Well, I suppose that's for others to decide MawB. I have never been accused of being unctuous though. I have many faults, as we all do, but I am not sure that is one. But there you go, who knew, perhaps you all attacked me because of my self-abasing servility wink

Chewbacca Thu 05-Sept-19 19:39:00

perhaps you all attacked me because of my self-abasing servility

Nope.

lemongrove Thu 05-Sept-19 19:40:33

....and nope again.

petra Thu 05-Sept-19 19:55:28

self abasing servility ????
Priceless!!!

MawB Thu 05-Sept-19 20:03:11

Let me think ..........????????
Nope

janeainsworth Thu 05-Sept-19 20:09:05

Well I started a post on another thread with ‘Oh dear’.
It wasn’t meant in a patronising way at all. It was intended to express commiseration with the OP of that thread.
Why do some posters always interpret other people’s posts in the least favourable way?

<waits for patronising response from the OP of this thread>

GracesGranMK3 Thu 05-Sept-19 20:20:12

You really do need to read the preceding posts. I never thought that was the case but MawB asked the question so it was only polite to answer it but I am very glad not to have been found to be unctuous. However, the thread was about the Great Johnson who, it appears, must never be criticised even if that means turning on a fellow member.

absent Thu 05-Sept-19 20:21:21

Wasn't Billy Bunter "the fat owl of the Third", not the LowerIV?

lemongrove Thu 05-Sept-19 20:24:22

The fat owl of the Remove absent ?

GracesGranMK3 Thu 05-Sept-19 20:24:49

I apologise if I misunderstood and you were actually commiserating with me janeainsworth. It is sometimes difficult to spot such thing in amongst the brickbats.

Elegran Thu 05-Sept-19 20:27:05

He has been promoted recently, absent, though whether that was a good thing is debatable.

GracesGranMK3 Thu 05-Sept-19 20:27:29

That junior school reading raises its head once again.

janeainsworth Thu 05-Sept-19 20:30:01

I was responding to this from
gonegirl actually
I cannot stand it when someone adds an "Oh dear" to a thread. So patronising. And holier than thou

MawB Thu 05-Sept-19 20:30:12

MawB asked the question so it was only polite to answer
???????????? ?????
Then why the F didn’t you do just that instead of patronising me, insulting my intelligence ( dont worry your little head ) - are you actually aware of what you are doing or living in some cloud cuckoo land ?
I worry about your (tenuous) grasp of reality GracesgranMk3

GracesGranMK3 Thu 05-Sept-19 20:55:01

That's okay then janeainsworth

GracesGranMK3 Thu 05-Sept-19 21:00:24

You do seem determined to be bad tempered MawB. There is not a lot I can do about that. It was your question of the immediately preceding post I was answering. The "Today 19:15" one.

Gonegirl Thu 05-Sept-19 21:03:33

JaneA I meant when the "Oh dear" is the comment in itself.
