The far left have finally succeeded in getting rid of Tom Watson .

We don’t all have the choice of choosing different parties,
the greens and Plaid Cymru are not standing where i live , allowing us the choice of conservative, labour and Libdems

Thanks, GracesGranMK3. I get a lot of information from Haaretz, an Israeli newspaper that stands up for the democratic rights of both Israelis and Palestinians.

Watson is not a socialist. As my old gran would say — lots more to come out in the wash. Watch this space.

I read Haaretz too. It's interesting to compare its spin with the Jewish Chronicle.

Exactly, suttonJ. Watson's gone. Who's the Labour PPC in his constituency?

jo1book Thu 07-Nov-19 13:57:25

I know what you are saying SuttonJ, but the fact is personalities headline the news. You need charisma to win an election (which is why Mrs. May came a cropper). So the leader of a party is all important as he/she sets the tone.

This is such sad news. The voice of reason in the Labour party. I have voted Labour in the past but now it it is in the grip of the extreme left I shall no more. Conservatives/Brexit party are the extreme right. So it has to be Liberal, not excited about that but it is the best alternative I can think of. Yes the Greens. the Womens Equality Party - both have their hearts in the right place but not this time.

I detest the Labour party and all it stands for. I had to work for 6 and a half years longer than I planned to because of |Brown and Blair. We had nice healthy savings accounts before they came to power, we were getting decent interest and had shares and an endowment which all lost money. I was too scared to retire because we didn't know what harm they were going to do next. Good luck to Boris and the rest of his team.

No more Tom and Jerry!

Nanniejc1 Thu 07-Nov-19 17:20:54

I don’t think many moderate Labour MPs actually like Corbyn or the way that he has allowed the ‘Momentum’ bullies to infiltrate the party. Many are upset about the way Corbyn has dealt with antisematism in the party too.Tom Watson was one of the moderates & it’s a very sad day that he is leaving.

GrannyAnnie2010 Thu 07-Nov-19 17:36:13

GracesGran, "hate speech"? I don't know - you're the one using that label. I hate anyone who supports false rape claims. If they don't know the facts, they should keep their mouths shut instead of jumping on the rape-claim bandwagon, especially if they're in a position of authority, like TW. (ugh!) Those who make the false rape claims should have a dose of their own medicine.

I live with a labour councillor and I see his lies, he even lies about his educational qualifications on his FB page! He lies about what he does in the home, absolutely nothing, BTW. He’s never even made as much as a cup of tea! He was almost deselected because the momentum crowd wanted one of their own in in the last local elections! He was called a 2 faced liar by one of his counterparts and secretly admitted to me he was, a fact which I’d realised many, many years ago, he even lied about having cancer to get me to come back to him after 4 years apart. All politicians say what they think you want to hear!

Labaik Thu 07-Nov-19 18:41:50

Hang on; are you saying you're married to Tom Watson? If not, this is irrelevant....

GracesGranMK3 Thu 07-Nov-19 19:48:28

It is the harm you wished to befall another human being I was commenting on GrannyAnnie2010. Nothing else. I wasn't asking you if you felt it was verging on law breaking. There wouldn't be much point in that. I was just wondering. As it was obviously not a joke it moves into the question of whether it is a threat. You are not sitting in your favourite pub; you are suggesting an outcome for another person and broadcasting it to the whole world.

GrannyAnnie2010 Thu 07-Nov-19 19:52:45

What threat is it that you're insinuating I'm making, GracesGran?

GracesGranMK3 Thu 07-Nov-19 21:31:13

What I said and think is in my post GrannyAnnie2010. There is no "insinuation" just a questioning of how acceptable a post is in which you hope that someone "is hunted to his deathbed.". You were given the chance to moderate what you were saying but chose not to. You put such a declaration out in public so there is really no point in getting on your high horse when someone questions your use of such language in a public place.
