Corbyn not at Festival of Remembrance

No the OP is NOT blatant propaganda - he didn't attend a national remembrance event, and he should have done. If Johnson had failed to attend, the LP fans on here would have gone ballistic.
And to those of you who have criticised me for starting this thread today, when would have been a better time to point out Corbyn's misdemeanour - next week, next month? Then I would have been criticised for bringing up "old news" by the Tory haters. I have observed today's remembrance just like the rest of you, as I do each year. But I can post what I want WHEN I want. If you don't like it, then don't read it, and don't reply to it.

You decide what he should have done and then make it a moral crime that he didn't do it.
He was with veterans in his constituency. He was not disrespecting the event.
Of course you can post what you want and anyone on this forum can reply to it in whichever way they choose within the guidelines.
You cannot expect to write something so unreasonable and spiteful just because you don't like a politician or political party and expect not to be called out on it.
Policies are what matter not spiteful allegations created out of nothing.

Not unreasonable, not spiteful, not allegations, just stating fact. And yes, in my opinion, he should have been there. Happy to be called out on anything, and also happy to reserve the right to respond.

Nope, the OP, was all the thing that have been said Opal. That is unless you have muddled the concert the evening before with the parade and laying of wreaths at the Cenotaph the next day and, in addition you put attending a concert higher than making sure people who lives are currently being destroyed by floods are getting all the need.

I would say the OP is in line with everything we have learned to expect from Vote Leave and the ERG (previously known as the Conservatives) - lies and obfuscation.

Unfortunately I missed the Festival of Remembrance this year as we are in Kenya but I was extremely lucky to attend the BATUK (British Army Training Unit Kenya) Service of Remembrance yesterday, and there was multiple mentions of civilians who have lost and are still losing their lives due to war.

There is absolutely nothing wrong in honouring the brave young men who went to war and did not come home, it is a mark of our respect and long may it continue

A lot of the political threads are like this one @grannyactivist. I have to admit I sometimes get sucked in and have to reply. My mum always said, if you cannot say anything nice don’t say it at all.

In fairness Pantglas2 the Queen IS the Patron of the RBL, so is more duty bound to attend I suppose, even at 93.

I think the difference is Corbyn regards the flooding as a disaster [because it is to people that have been affected] whereas Johnson says it 'isn't a disaster'. I'm not an admirer of Corbyn in general but I'm sick of the witch hunt against him....

No one is saying there is anything g wrong with marking it. There is something wrong with demanding that everyone does and that they do it in a particular way.

Have any other gransnetters seen that iconic photograph of Her Majesty the Queen at the cenotaph.She has her eyes closed and a single tear on her cheek. It brought a huge lump to my throat. I have tremendous respect for her, but not all the royals! Find it if you can and see what you think.
