I think most of us middle of the roaders and also the right wingers are probably thanking our lucky stars out loud for the lucky escape we had. And to be fair, it’s less than a month since he stopped being a leader.

Let’s hope Keir Starmer measures up in the next few months and gives the Government a run for their money.

With reports emerging of how the right within the Labour party deliberately work against a Corbyn led victory in the 2017 general election, I feel that Keir Starmer will have great difficulty in preventing the wider Labour movement from making a complete break with the present Parliamentary Labour Party.

However, in my view with the deservedly growing anger against the actions of the right in the Labour Party in recent years, it is not looking good for the future whoever now leads the Parliamentary party.

Ironically Corbyn and McDonald may have key roles to play in the above, as should Corbyn and McDonald encourage the trades unions to continue their support of the Labour party then that could prove pivotal in the debates and decisions to come.

BUT we're done with it for 5 years and frankly, I'm not engaging with it for at least 4 of them, if ever again. UK politics are not actually politics anymore. They are the exercising of wealth and covert power, much like the US.

Margaret Thatcher resigned as PM in 1992 - 27 years ago. She has been dead for 6 years isn't that long enough to "let it go".
