We are wrestling a mugger to the ground and this is the dangerous part. Together, we can do it. Just hold tight for a little longer British people.

I’ve missed his enthusiasm, his optimism, his confidence and his ability to galvanise us for the common good.

He is arranging cross party talks to bring us all together.

Welcome back that man!

Captain back at the helm.?
after falling overboard

Gemini17892 Mon 27-Apr-20 10:24:27

I’m no great political thinker but my ( some would say naive ) view is that every government needs a charismatic figure at the helm but a first class team right behind him or her .
We need his energy and positivity .

Couldn't agree more, Urmstongran - well said!

The captain is back with his hand on the helm were my first thoughts too. If anyone can steer us through the rocks into clear waters it is him or at least that’s what it feels like.

It was great to see him back. An excellent speech too. Saying the things that need to be said in his own inimitable way.

He has courage and he is a fighter, which he will need more than ever as he faces the next dangerous challenge, as some people's patience begins to wear thin.

Jabberwok Mon 27-Apr-20 10:37:02

Welcome back that man so pleased to see him looking so much better than last time he gave a press conference.

Grandad1943 Mon 27-Apr-20 11:10:47

I have to agree that Boris Johnson's address to the nation this morning was excellent in its content and almost Churchillian in its presentation.

At a time when many Conservative Party donors are trying to push the government into unlocking Britain before it is right to do so, then Boris certainly informed them that will not happen.

As someone who does not normally support Conservative government, Johnson would very much seem to be the person this nation needs at this time of great crisis.

For just as Churchill drew Britain together as one entity at a time of immense emergency in 1940, then Boris has demonstrated that he has the same ability in 2020.

farview Mon 27-Apr-20 11:13:37

Grandad1943 you have echoed just what my H said.

Rosalyn69 Mon 27-Apr-20 11:15:03

I’m glad he is back too. I’m not a huge Boris fan but the Tories have looked from shaky without him steering the ship.

craftyone Mon 27-Apr-20 11:16:17

well said OP. I too am glad that Boris is back
