GNHQ edit: Following on from previous thread linked to here: Will he resign?

Tooting 29 it matters because the bottom feeders who spit at police and key workers can all now moronically justify themselves with " well, he's done what he wants, so can I" without reference to scruples, morals or the greater good.

Is the situation now that holiday home rental companies can now open them up to visitors from today along with all the holiday caravan sites.

Is it that all these organisations have been analyzing the crisis regulations wrongly and they should have used their own "interpretation" of those regulations?.

The difference between Cummings and any of us doing what he did is that none of us is telling the rest of the country to obey the rules and Stay Home. He disregarded his own advice.

I’ve been ill at home on my own for days at a time yet still managed to look after my kids. Who cares if they eat nothing but crisps and Mars Bars for a few days? They lived to tell the tale!

I've just watched this DC show and I feel sick.

Should I get in the car and drive hundreds of miles to wherever I want?

Fennel Mon 25-May-20 18:36:34

@ Whitewave
" Whitewavemark2 Mon 25-May-20 17:15:02 Oh well he’s gone."
I shouted this to husband, he had just come in, but was so disappointed when we saw the reality. grin
Sorry to grin, but this is like a pantomime.

SueDonim Mon 25-May-20 18:38:38

You need to check with your doctor first and then go for a wee drive to test for Wobbly Eyes, Varian.

varian Mon 25-May-20 18:39:46

Is it a good excuse if I don't have any friends or relations that could look after my child?

SueDonim Mon 25-May-20 18:41:27

Oh, yes, just say you’re a peripatetic child carer and then people will welcome you with open arms!

grannyrebel7 Mon 25-May-20 18:42:35

He also said that he was so ill he could hardly stand, yet he was able to pick his wife up from hospital with their son. Another hole in this debacle is that he said he was worried about attacks on his family if they stayed in London, but surely the government's chief adviser would have security if he was that worried.

Luckygirl Mon 25-May-20 18:43:17

The other really important thing about Cummings' misbehaviour is that the police will be in a difficult situation - they were already struggling to pin down the letter of the law when stopping people - this will just muddy the waters still further. Not good for law enforcement.

varian Mon 25-May-20 18:44:03

What is the matter with London, that there apparently was no support for a family with a child?

Fennel Mon 25-May-20 18:48:11

Good point Luckygirl.

Media frenzy- one thread exhausted and still it goes on. Trial by media, twitter and now gransnet fora. It's a story because the media make it so, it's what they are good at - let's get everyone het up and indignant baying for blood. Morons who spit and protecting family can't quite make the connection there. If the police knew about it in March why now and not then. How many on this thread have stuck rigidly to guidelines I wonder. Glass houses and stones come to mind. Its pathetic the whole media circus and the great British public fall for it every time. Next week it will be something else.

Whitewavemark2 Mon 25-May-20 18:56:02

fennel ?. Sorry to disappoint

SueDonim Mon 25-May-20 18:58:26

If he was worried about security at his home in London, why on earth did he take his wife and child back there two weeks later?

MaizieD Mon 25-May-20 19:04:57

^ Trial by media, twitter and now gransnet fora.^

Nothing like the interminable Harry and Meghan threads, eh?

And they hadn't done anything to endanger the lives of other people.

Firecracker how dare you mention the despicable Cummings and the admirable Jo Cox in the same post.

So if Dominic Cummings his wife or God forbid his son were attacked by some left wing moron baying for blood outside his house and killed because threads like this and the media had worked them up to a frenzy like they did Jo Cox's killer that would be OK, that's what your post implies.

varian Mon 25-May-20 19:09:17

Exactly SueDomin This couple have a huge income, so they could hire private secrity at any time.

EllanVannin Mon 25-May-20 19:12:19

"What is the matter with London?" Don't tempt me !!

Dinahmo Mon 25-May-20 19:26:58

Pantglas2

No I haven't met him but it was a good performance - humble, mostly calm and collected. I have to say better than his boss who isn't a good performer in difficult situations.

Whitewavemark2 Mon 25-May-20 19:32:47

Mary Wakefield can drive. Puts a whole different perspective on the whole debacle.

Pantglas2 Mon 25-May-20 19:32:58

So what’s your comparator Dinahmo?

Lucca Mon 25-May-20 19:34:34

Good point MaizieD.

Pantglas2 Mon 25-May-20 19:36:50

I suspect Mary the missus doesn’t drive on motorways like so many women. I have many friends who play the little woman who doesn’t like to drive on motorways, abroad, ‘on the wrong side’, big cars, small cars.....equality but only when it suits!

Boris has reiterated the washing hands advice. I think both he and DC should be washing their mouths out with soap.
