Have you ever seen such an example of hopeless squirming embarrassment as Boris Johnson's pathetic performance?
Well done, Ed Miliband for showing BJ as a useless apology for a PM!

Yet another law officer has resigned because he can not reconcile what the government is doing to the rule of law.

Is this Keen, Wwmk2?

Yes - apparently he is a proper upstanding old fashioned sort of Tory.

Urmstongran

Yes, there is. In this case, as an insurance policy because the EU have definitely not been negotiating in good faith. They will now and we won’t need the insurance.

Why is it an insurance policy?

Whitewavemark2 Wed 16-Sept-20 15:06:54

More breaking rules by Tories. Mark Francois - for whatever reason- has not attended parliament since the start of this term.

He has voted 9 times by proxy.

Rules who can use a proxy voter.

Medical reasons

Covid reasons

New mother

New father

Adoptive parent.

The Tories need their asses kicking from here to kingdom come.

Whitewavemark2 Wed 16-Sept-20 15:14:52

Another dreadful PMQs for Johnson. This time he was mauled by Rayner.

“ I suppose exempting Grouse shooting from rule of 6 is alright for the Prime Minister's friend who paid for his Caribbean Chrismas break, funded his leadership campaign and just happens to own two Grouse moors “

The next time a man drives London to Durham during this crisis it will likely be to get a Covid test” -Boom boom!

Once again Johnson gets it wrong. UK doesnot do more Covid tests than anywhere else in Europe. Denmark does almost twice as many per 1000 people. Plus UK figs include antibody tests, which other cos don’t, & based on when tests sent out, not results

It isn't. It's something she picked up from the media and repeated verbatim. Critical thinking and analysis are not to her liking.

suziewoozie Wed 16-Sept-20 15:24:15

Democracy is a truly wonderful thing - you’d think the least MF would do is not vote - it’s not as though they need it is there. He and they are just being GFs

Jaberwok Wed 16-Sept-20 15:34:25

Honestly Urm, I'd leave it if I were you. You don't have to join in this drivel, you only get shouted down all the time! lets face it even Grandad seems to have left the fray, probably in disgust at the rudeness he's encountered on here! It's like talking to hysterical ill mannered children and just not worth the effort, and crucifyingly boring!

growstuff Wed 16-Sept-20 16:14:04

You don't have to read the posts either Jaberwok. I'm sure you have more interesting things to do.

I look forward to mature debate.

Jaberwok, just to lighten the tone of the thread debate, I have not left the fray deliberately but as is usual I am working during the day, and just looked into this thread while having a well-deserved cup of coffee at the moment.

As you may well imagine at this period in time to be operating in workplace safety is not the quietest occupation to have and we did not finish work in this office until 9:00pm last evening.

Having said that I feel that life in this office seems to be much more peaceful than being on the News & Politics threads of GN at present. ???

See you later...........hopefully.?

How childish you sound. Losing an argument so resorting to name calling and throwing your dummy out of the pram.

Urmstongran Wed 16-Sept-20 16:20:19

I must like the challenge Jaberwok!

I know I irritate most of the posters on here. I may not be as intelligent as they but I’m sure my small offerings give grist to the mill. Without me (and a minority of others) this would just be another echo chamber!

Ilovecheese Wed 16-Sept-20 16:32:03

You are unfailingly polite Urmstongran I am sure you are as intelligent as any of us. You don't flounce off in a huff. So you carry on posting.

I don't agree with your views, but would not dream of telling you to not bother posting them.

As you say, who wants an echo chamber? not me!

suziewoozie Wed 16-Sept-20 16:36:40

Utm but checking your facts sometimes would help - your posts are sometimes quite cavalier and you are not always polite. ( but then neither am I but I’m much better on facts)

Jaberwok Wed 16-Sept-20 16:37:10

Of course it's up to you Urm! You cope better with sneers and jeers than I do! Nice to see you Grandad! Hello and Goodbye as I'm seeking a more pleasant less confrontational thread to post on, Pets anyone?!!! Good luck Urm!!! and Lemon!!?

Jaberwok Wed 16-Sept-20 16:40:42

Ooooch! Sooner you than me Urm!!! ??

Grandad1943 Wed 16-Sept-20 17:20:26

A thread and forum without Urm would be no forum at all. ?

You just keep posting. ?

Jaberwok Wed 16-Sept-20 17:28:04

sooziwoozi. You do seem to have a very good opinion of yourself especially on the academic front! It's a pity you lack good manners and humility to go with this high IQ! Telling someone that their intelligence is lacking, is ,well, rude arrogant and not acceptable! It lets down your superior education - big time!

Urmston ?never confuse intelligence with posters being a
‘Know -All’ which means they google most things in any case.
It makes me laugh how a few comment authoritatively on every subject under the sun.

Thought today Johnson did rather better at PMQ’s which are not his forte at any time, he is never angry/rude/ hectoring etc with a woman, so the LP missed a trick there, they should have elected a woman as LOTO ( but then they have never done that.)?

GrannyGravy13 Wed 16-Sept-20 17:43:11

Urmstongran has every right to post her opinions on the political threads as do any members of GN.

MaizieD Wed 16-Sept-20 17:46:54

Telling someone that their intelligence is lacking, is ,well, rude arrogant and not acceptable!

I don't think that suziewoozie said that. She just suggested that Ug check her facts.

If anyone referred to her intelligence it was Ug herself, earlier today

I don’t have the intelligence to solve the conundrum of the Irish question.

And, as far as I can see, nobody has suggested that she stopped posting. (Unless you can find it and quote it for me...)

Nobody has said that she hasn't the right.

It's ridiculous making up things to berate others about.

GrannyGravy13 Wed 16-Sept-20 18:10:41

I was not berating others MaizieD

Urmstongran Wed 16-Sept-20 19:45:40

I’m blushing here! So many lovely comments & I wasn’t fishing for them - honestly.

I will try harder to check my facts. (I was always a bit lazy though when it came to homework - less motivation!). Mind you opinion pieces in various newspapers are just that - opinions. Pin a tail on a donkey anyone?

What about the 90 days rule? Isn't that breaking the Law? Just wondering.
