Last night after feeling unwell.

Fingers crossed for him.

The weather hasn’t been good today. Maybe Prince Charles would have been helicoptered to the hospital to cover that distance if the visibility had been clear?

Urmstongran Sat 20-Feb-21 19:46:52

I wonder if he’s more poorly than is being said now that PC has visited.

Anniebach Sat 20-Feb-21 19:54:07

coincidence that he was taken ill when talks were going on re
Harry ? . Phillip loves his grandchildren and thinking of his life of duty he must be hurt / angry that Harry has no problem in betraying the Queen. I don’t think it is a coincidence.

I thought that as well Urmstongran especially as he is staying in hospital until next week at least.

Let’s blame Harry and Megan for PPs illness. Can’t have any thing to do with his age can it?

Nezumi65 Sat 20-Feb-21 20:15:22

I was about to post the same vegansrock grin He’s 99 - I suspect his age has more to do with his illness than Harry & Meghan confused

Anniebach Sat 20-Feb-21 20:59:20

Age must have something to do with his illness but also his age
quite probably makes stress harder to cope with.

J52 Sat 20-Feb-21 22:16:46

I wonder if it’s his heart. I wish him well, as I would anyone who is ill and suffering.
My MIL to hospital for a routine heart check up. She walked in on her own, expecting to be home in the afternoon. The medics immediately put her in a bed, linked up to heart monitors. She was there for 2 weeks waiting to stabilise. Eventually she had a quadruple bypass, from which she didn’t regain consciousness.

BlueBelle Sat 20-Feb-21 22:20:37

* Veganrock* you are so right if the weather changed it would be that young couples fault
For heavens sake give it a break, we get the picture anniebach they are to blame for Covid and Brexit as well

At 99 he can’t go on for ever he’s had a brilliant innings as they say I don’t think Charles would have travelled all that way unless he was more seriously ill than we have been led to believe

Anniebach Sat 20-Feb-21 22:32:20

I did not say they were to blame, what did I say which lay any blame ?

maddyone Sat 20-Feb-21 22:41:43

I agree with others who have wondered if it’s rather more serious than we are being led to believe, because during previous hospital stays Prince Philip has not had visitors, and also the Covid situation suggests only the most ill patients are allowed a visitor. In addition Prince Charles drove about 100 miles for a half hour visit, and that seems a lot of effort for a casual visit.

Alegrias1 Sat 20-Feb-21 22:44:09

I thinks it's very disrespectful to be talking about anybody's state of health and speculating about what might be influencing it while they are lying in a hospital bed, especially if it is someone we don't personally know.
Wish him well, hope for a good outcome but don't pretend to know what's going on in his private life.

Anniebach Sat 20-Feb-21 22:46:35

I have not the foggiest what is going in in his private life, the world knows what is going on in his family life.

Ellianne Sat 20-Feb-21 22:49:12

I agree the signs aren't good in view of Prince Charles' visit to the DofE.
I cannot help thinking, however, that the Queen and Prince Philip must have discussed things quite deeply over the past few weeks and made joint decisions on several issues.

Anniebach Sat 20-Feb-21 22:53:11

Yes, hard decisions had to be made

Alegrias1 Sat 20-Feb-21 22:53:57

No the world doesn't know Annie they only know what the tabloids speculate about his family life. We only really know about the business of the monarchy.

Anniebach Sat 20-Feb-21 22:57:05

An official statement was made by the palace, an official statement followed from Harry and Megan.

Nezumi65 Sat 20-Feb-21 23:14:07

Prince Charles looked very sad being driven away. I doubt that was anything to do with Harry or Meghan. Whatever one’s views on the RF I’m sure we can all empathise with a son visiting a very sick father.

Alegrias1 Sat 20-Feb-21 23:20:35

Both statements referred only to the status of the couple and what work they would or wouldn't do, and the palace's one said they would remain loved members of the family. The press, and people who think they know all about the RF's private business, make up the rest. It's disrespectful. None of us know these people personally (probably!)

Anniebach Sat 20-Feb-21 23:31:06

I disagree, the second statement was a slap down, no need to know them personally, they issued their statement and it was
a slap down.

What a nasty bit of speculation.

Anniebach Sun 21-Feb-21 03:04:35

Has no one read the statement released by them after the statement was released by the palace ?

I thought this thread was about the Duke of Edinburgh.

Anniebach Sun 21-Feb-21 03:44:15

It is,

nadateturbe Sun 21-Feb-21 03:57:11

I agree with Alegrias. Its disrespectful to do anything other than wish him well.
