Obviously, the Oprah interview with the Sussexes.

I will because I want to hear it straight from the source rather than media spin/interpretation so that I can comment later on what I saw and heard, when discussions start up as they surely will.

However, I don’t think they should be doing an interview at all (I felt the same about Diana and Charles interviews) these things end up backfiring against them.

Agree with NelG, Calendagirl and Monica.
They must think the public are as stupid as they are, it wasn't so much an interview as a very bad therapy session. Oprah did not ask any of the obvious questions that people on here certainly are asking.
Do they not realise how they make themselves look with all this very public whinging .
Lets hope they now shut up.....but I doubt it.

MissAdventure Tue 09-Mar-21 09:31:20

How about this?

Anniebach Tue 09-Mar-21 09:37:14

Two women of different generations wearing floral dresses and wearing a white outfit , shocking.

Megan did the same, wearing a black outfit .

Casdon Tue 09-Mar-21 09:37:36

I think that’s stretching it much more than the Meghan pictures, the only similarity is the colours, not the detail of the way the outfits were worn? To be fair to both of the younger royals though, it would be impossible not to wear similar dresses or suits, as Diana had so many?

MissAdventure Tue 09-Mar-21 09:38:41

Well that's one conclusion reached, then.
Not a big deal. smile

Lucca Tue 09-Mar-21 09:41:46

What on earth conclusion were we meant to draw Aveline ?

Meghan and Kate both copied Diana ?

There’s a certain RF way of dressing ?

Lucca Tue 09-Mar-21 09:42:16

Barrel and scraping spring to mind

Anniebach Tue 09-Mar-21 09:44:17

Sophie Wessex wears white outfits, Meg and the Queen wear green.

Well exactly. I don’t understand what conclusions we were meant to draw!

NellG

Thanks for the insults Nezumi and Maizie. I would have thanked you earlier but I was too busy having my opinions dictated by the press...

No need to thank me, Nell. It was the least I could do after wading through this disgusting hate fest.

Casdon Tue 09-Mar-21 09:52:11

Lucca do you think so? I am therefore obviously shallow, as I’m more interested in their outfits than the ins and outs of their current family dramas. It will all blow over.

Ellianne Tue 09-Mar-21 09:54:32

Whilst we're on appearances, how does someone manage to "weep buckets" of despair in the dark during performances at the Royal Albert Hall, yet still look immaculate in the intervals and afterwards when thanking the performers?

Anniebach Tue 09-Mar-21 09:56:31

And with a heavy load of eye makeup

You have a point ! I just meant I didn’t understand the point being made !

In the interview of which I watched a few minutes while channel hopping I liked her dress and didn’t like his suit. Does that mean something ?!

Bridgeit Tue 09-Mar-21 09:59:23

Do the men wear similar suits I wonder ?
Can’t see them getting upset even if they did , I am sorry to say it’s a ‘female thing’ ladies.

Eloethan Tue 09-Mar-21 09:59:28

I would imagine getting counselling for someone within the royal family would be something that required a lot of security checking and perhaps authorisation by palace staff/officials. I don't think it would just be a matter of getting a recommendation and going ahead. Very personal issues would be discussed and absolute discretion would be essential.

Buffybee Tue 09-Mar-21 10:00:45

In my opinion, the main reason for this interview was to raise their profile in America.
Apparently, not many Americans actually knew who they were.
Netflix and Spotify need them to be household names, so it was all about the money.

Eloethan Tue 09-Mar-21 10:05:33

In my opinion, expressing concern as to what the colour of a child's skin might be - whenever that comment is made - is deeply offensive and suggests an unpleasant attitude towards race.

maddyone Tue 09-Mar-21 10:07:45

The RF get treatment all the time and discretion is maintained. Prince Philip is in hospital now, Harry said he’s had therapy, it’s not a big deal. They don’t normally wander into their local A+E (although Charles did in Nottingham when he broke his arm some years ago, and Sophie gave birth to Louise prematurely and therefore in the local NHS hospital as she wasn’t near home) but nonetheless there would have been no problem in getting treatment and therapy for Meghan if she needed it.

Smileless2012 Tue 09-Mar-21 10:08:21

That's a good point Eloethan and if the RF have learned anything from this circus it will be not to discuss personal issues with H & M as they're not capable of "absolute discretion".

There would have been difficulties to overcome but that's a far cry from denying M the help she says she needed, and if this is true, the one member of the RF who let her down the most was H.

maddyone Tue 09-Mar-21 10:10:03

I think you could be right Buffybee.
And of course, an act of spiteful revenge.
Two birds with one stone.

JaneJudge Tue 09-Mar-21 10:11:01

How much security do they need or mean?

I'm really confused about what 'security' means. Do all the royal family have 'security' in what sense do they have it?

maddyone Tue 09-Mar-21 10:13:36

Smileless
.....H and M.......not capable of ‘absolute discretion.’

How very true. I wouldn’t be surprised if the royal family ever discuss anything more interesting than the weather with either of them again.

Smileless2012 Tue 09-Mar-21 10:13:40

If it's true Eloethan but is it? IMO "it's deeply offensive and suggests an unpleasant attitude toward" the RF to put such a powerful and disturbing allegation 'out there', which is pointing the finger of suspicion at the entire RF apart from the Queen and PP.

yes it does and surely even people with privilege realise that.
