You're right lemongrove including members of his own party.
What colour car do you have or did you used to drive?
Virtual patient in Virtual ward ??
Demonic has suggested that Mr Johnson has been not entirely honest about his communications with James Dyson.
I recognise many people believe Mr J was ‘doing his best for the country in a pandemic’ when he offered to sort the tax for Mr Dyson. But, do we want ethical government or not?

So many people in the UK voted for Johnson solely to keep Corbyn out...this fact cannot be emphasised enough, I agree, and tragically, some in the Labour party just cannot see that, but that is a subject for another thread! I did think that Johnson would skip off this January, having 'got Brexit done' but I was wrong there. I suspect we have just started seeing the beginning of what will be an unedifying time in Tory politics, I always imagine the HoC being like the Tudor Court with plotting and whispering in the corridors. For the record, I don't like, and don't trust Cummings either. In a way, I can stand back and watch this unfold, knowing that none of it is down to me; I didn't vote for Brexit, I didn't vote Tory and I wasn't one of the misguided fools who thought that Johnson would make a good PM! I seem to remember there was a GN member who said that as a party member, she had voted for Johnson, I wonder how she feels now?
"He sacked Cummings ( a clever but anarchic man) and nothing that DC now comes out with will be believable because of his sacking."
Ah! And that's where he's possibly gone wrong. Allegedly, it was Johnson himself who informed his mates in the media that Cummings was responsible for the leaks. The rumour is that it was a good friend of Carrie, Henry Newton, who was responsible for the leaks.
It would appear he gambled on nobody believing Cummings, but Cummings has kicked back.
In any case, which is more important - the leaks or the Cameron, Dyson, Arcuri and redecorating news? Could it be a distraction from the really important issues?
Well all in this current government supported Cummings over the Barnard Castle debacle, that tainted them all. Now he’s turning, can’t wait for the next mud slinging from Scummings
Always astonishes me that you’d vote for BJ ‘because you don’t want Corbyn’. Did you not consider the Greens? Lib Dem’s? Anybody other than BJ?? I didn’t want Corbyn either but the alternative of BJ was just too awful to consider. He’s a vile awful person with no principles. At least JC had principles even if you didn’t like them. My Vote went Green and will do again. PS I’ve voted for various parties over the years. I choose carefully based on policies and the integrity of those involved.

I have a very good constituency MP, who happens to be Conservative. Greens or Lib Dem’s didn’t have a snowball in hells chance of being elected and the Labour offering was dire!

I voted Lib Dem and look what happened!
May we ask who s/he is, so we can judge for ourselves.
Polarbear- I do understand you- but we all know that with our voting system, First Past the Post- your vote would never count.

Who are you referring to, here, Kali2?
Kali2. Yes I know. I just couldn’t bring myself to vote for that man. (Either of them!). We need a better system where our votes actually count. That’s for another thread tho.
Thinking... this is the core problem isn’t it? We often vote for/against the ‘leader’ rather than the best MP for our area/values. Was it always like this?? I can’t remember it being so personality based in the past??
Callistemon - I was a firm Lib Dem for a while. My MP was Nick Clegg ?. I live in a City full of students and graduates who stayed and made their homes here. Go figure. They don’t vote Lib Dem anymore round here.

What good will a vote for the Greens do? Much as I like and admire Caroline Lucas isn’t she their only MP? And even a best case scenario would result in a handful of Green MP’s. So many Labour voters are saying they’ll vote Green in future which means we will have a Conservative government forever.

Thanks for clarifying
There are rumours flying round twitter that Cummings has recordings too.
Popcorn at the ready...
The difference between Johnson and Cummings is that Cummings will have kept a record and evidence of everything that’s happened. I personally think that Johnson isn’t actually a bad person at heart: privileged and foolish yes but not bad. Cummings is pretty evil, but much much smarter. I’m finding it all gruesomely fascinating.

Not bad how he’s treated his wives and children? Not bad how he’s lied his whole adult life? Really? Hummm who do you consider bad I wonder?
I can see what Maybee means; Boris blunders through life, not being unpleasant and thinking himself charming, full of bonhomie, but leaving chaos in his wake.
Cummings seems intense, underhand and vengeful. It was surprising that he got caught out lying so easily - he seems more devious than that.
"Revenge is a dish best served cold" - and Cummings has had the perfect opportunity to put the boot in.
I think both Cummings and Johnson are disreputable, manipulative characters. "What an absolute shower", as Terry Thomas used to say.
Did Johnson suck up to Dyson because he is in a moral vacuum?
Johnson has I feel has handled the pandemic well, apart from a shaky start, he has proved himself loyal to uk. Fear he is doomed with Carrie, he has a history with women, she is no exception, she is too interfering, also you know what happens when you marry the mistress, mattered neen quite a few before her and no doubt a few to come. Cummings, well he showed his loyalty at the height of the pandemic when the rest of us were obeying the rules he showed himself for what he is, his face is frequently contorted with anguished bitterness. . Unfortunately we can't expect anyone in government to be all things to all men, just have to look at the intentions and aims and if they are loyal to uk. . Labour had fast become a joke, with Corbyn, that why we voted in Boris. Boris will move on and another flawed hero will take centre stage. I cannot think of anyone I would want in top position from any party. Look at the scandal with Cameron, with Blair and Iraq, I've come to think politicians have a mind set unique to the lot of them, but we need them unfortunately. Yes we do want ethical government but sone times you gave yo look at the greater good. I suppose there us always Trump he's looking for a puts to fill, it puts our problems in the shade.
And the cynic in me says while we are distracted by this, what are we missing?
Yes that's true anyone but Corbyn. Blair the war monger, Mandelson, government, different groups Newspapers 5 years of attacks and smears everything was thrown at Corbyn People in his own party writing disgusting WhatsApp messages.
Thousands went to his rallies membership up by hundreds of thousands.
Millions of people don't follow politics but do read the billionaire press which said don't vote for Corbyn we don't want a socialist government
So vote for the sleaze bag liar Johnson
He is selling off the NHS
