Anyone watching this now? He really does talk the talk doesn’t he. Has just stated that no health worker has died due to lack of PPE. At least Sarah Owen is now giving him a good grilling.

JaneJudge I dont think she was wearing her mask on her arse grin

If she was she certainly needed help.

Obviously he was feeling overwhelmed & weak due to the whole weight of worries he's endured and she was giving him mouth to mouth resuscitation to make sure he keeps going, for the nation!

That's the best excuse I've heard. We all owe her a debt of gratitude in that case. Very noble of her when you think of it.

Are you suggesting that there might have been a tad of corruption ?

Surely not . When there is a crisis we have to reach out to our friends. If our friends happen to make a huge profit at the taxpayers' expense, well, surely that's OK??

Greta Fri 25-Jun-21 19:17:03

The pandemic is being used as a blanket to cover up all sorts of misbehaviour/corruption/lies/hypocracy/cronyism etc. Remember these are unprecedented times and they have all been under tremendous pressure.
Breaking the ministerial code? Who cares? Boris Johnson certainly doesn't.

varian Fri 25-Jun-21 19:37:44

Johnson can never sack a minister for breaking the ministerial code or behaving dishonestly or corruptly or illegally because he's been there and done that. So what !

80 seat majority thanks to a minority of votes. FPTP means he can get away with it.

"Sack Matt Hancock for his failures in the health service, not allegations of an affair. I have never encountered a health secretary so incompetent"

Dr Kailash Chand Vice President, British Medical Association

I know Nicola ??????? isn’t everyone’s choice of leader (fair enough, each to her own etc...etc.) but when the Scottish health officer broke the/her rules, she went ? pronto, no weeping and gnashing of teeth, play-acting like a spoilt little rich kid and showing no integrity whatsoever. How much more do we have to put up with from BJ? We are the laughingstock of Europe. ? wait a minute.........the laughingstock of the Western world.?

Laughing stock of the whole world Corry

This is my theory too. It would be hypocritical of Bozza and also who knows what muck it could stir up for him. I wish MH would be sacked- not for cheating on his wife, but for cheating on our country when we all had to obey rules about distancing. The worst thing about it is, that this will give fuel to the people who say that covid does not actually exist.

Hancock has dead fish eyes. His lower face is surprisingly slack as though he's a fish that's been caught- and that was before he WAS caught. I think you'd have to be in love with him to "go there"? His poor wife. At least with MH being in the papers, she'll be able to get a good settlement, hopefully with extra cash for humiliation and regret.

Whitewavemark2 Sat 26-Jun-21 18:21:50

"RESIGNED"

MayBee70 Sat 26-Jun-21 18:30:30

It had to happen that way. Johnson couldn’t sack him because it would bring back criticism of Cummingsgate. As it’s the Sun wot won it and they’re Murdoch puppets here comes Murdoch poster boy Gove…..

That’s what I was thinking

Whitewavemark2 Sat 26-Jun-21 18:32:59

We ought to have a sweep stake

Savvy Sat 26-Jun-21 18:38:21

Should we start a game of cabinet bingo? I wonder how long before we get a full house, or should that be an empty one?

vegansrock Sat 26-Jun-21 18:39:30

Johnson couldn’t sack him as he’s done the same thing ( affair with colleague) more than once.

varian Sat 26-Jun-21 18:39:43

I think it unlikely that Hancock or Johnson are on GN, but possibly their mothers are!!

Whitewavemark2 Sat 26-Jun-21 18:40:23

It was the cronyism wot done it.

varian Sat 26-Jun-21 18:42:34

I once had a problem with a stroppy young carpenter who did not seem to understand the drawings and had done his own thing.

I invited his mother round for a glass of sherry, showed her how he'd got it wrong and - hey presto , problem solved, he took it down and re-did it correctly

Smileless2012 Sat 26-Jun-21 18:44:33

Well he's done the right thing by resigning.
