What a ridiculous thing to say, we all had a free vote and we were entitled to use it as we saw fit.

They really do need to get a grip and explain why our economy is outpacing the other European countries, particularly as they made such a pig’s ear of their vaccination programme with all theirspite driven lies which have dangerously backfired and have put many lives unnecessarily at risk.

WW2 and her bully boys would be much happier in Russia or China I think.

The EU offered the UK more time to agree terms for BREXIT given the pandemic crisis and focus. Instead, Boris slipped the worst deal possible through, refusing all terms offered. But, Boris can boast that he led BREXIT to a deal which he signed.

The majority of voters wanted BREXIT so that's what they have, the majority of voters placed Boris in to power, so we have to live by the rules and regulations, pity Boris refused to accept more time.....

Ahem! The majority of voters didn't place Johnson into power.

Just a little factcheck: the UK is not outpacing those of some other countries with vaccinations. Maybe you'd like to explain how the "spite driven lies" have backfired because most other countries are doing rather better than the UK has done during the pandemic.

Do you read the Daily Express by any chance?

muse you are building your new home very slowly by the sound of it - we have a relative who has a company doing various building projects - new builds and conversions - they are having enormous difficulty getting normal building supplies of all sorts. This has seen one of the building companies he uses go under and luckily for the workforce he diverted personal funds from something he wanted to do to keep the men paid and in work.
It is a problem for many companies - just be thankful you can obviously be delayed a bit with no real hardship to yourselves.

We have had no delays at all caused by shortages or prolonged deliveries. We had to stop for personal reasons twice during the build which is a self build with a few contractors in.

There is enough reported in building and wood trade news to explain the increase in price and the supply problem. The demand has rocketed. I agree that some building companies are struggling but that's because they are having to compete for supplies due to the boom in house building. It's the highest it's been for 20 years along with a nearly 50% increase in home improvements.

i have an interest in church architecture especially the rebuild of notre dame cathedral which requires 2000 cubic metres of wood

france is currently suffering a huge shortage of wood for building and the restoration project has been delayed
they have enough trees but not enough industries to transform the wood into construction materials

that applies to housebuidling and renovations too like beams and cladding

muses explanation is correct to say demand has rocketed and prices are soaring all round

but good that sustainable products are now the choice of builders

Our economy is growing at a rate that will still leave us behind Germany and France at the end of this year, because their economies didn't tank the way ours did. (Thanks Boris)

Vaccination; I refer you to “Petera’s" post from 13:23 today. In summary, we’re not as far ahead as you seem to think. We’re not far ahead at all.

Lives at risk? Deaths per million, for example. A selected few: UK 1949, Spain 1748, France 1638, Sweden 1425, Germany 1104....

Brexit was a catastrophe, by any and every measure. Covid19 was a "natural disaster", except that it was almost certainly made in a lab in Wuhan, and then accidentally (or maybe deliberately?) released. The biggest tragedy of all is that this horrendous and hypocritical bunch of t#ssers (aka the current government), will try to blame everything which has gone wrong on Covid19, which has provided them with a perfect smokescreen to deny the damage done to this country in the name of "taking back control". Nobody has benefitted from Brexit. Much has been lost, which will never be recovered. The UK is the laughing stock of Europe (and possibly the whole world). Nobody has benefitted from Covid19 either, except, perhaps, the Chinese, who make and export most of the world's PPE and Covid19 test materials. Win win.

Hi just like to ask about Scotland. What happens if they get to vote and it goes the way it did before and they dont get independance.

If we vote again on independence, and the answer is again "no", then no independence, unfortunately. The timing is crucial. We shouldn't push for another referendum until we know we can win. We get one more chance in my lifetime, I feel, then we've shot our bolt. (And in case anyone is standing by to say not all Scots want independence, "we" refers to those who do.)

The EU would look on Scotland's application to join the same way they would look on anybody else's. The difference is, we want to be part of the EU, and England and Wales didn't. An independent Scotland would work towards that endgame.

(Now a whole bunch of peaceable, fair minded and unfairly hounded Brexiters will come along to tell me what they think of me and my country. sigh)

"Remainers" get subjected to all manner of name calling, spite, ignorance and denying of the facts. We get told to get over it, you lost, yah boo sucks. I've just been told I'd be better off in Russia or China. I think, the argument wasn't entirely clear. I'm a bigot, apparently.

Being told that what you voted for is a pigs ear, that we all told you it would be and that you still can't understand that, just pales into insignificance, I'm afraid. If you can't stand the truth, get out of the kitchen.

I go out of my way not to be rude, and when on occasion I have been called patronising I calmly post my reasoning behind my post, only for the pile on to continue.

It was drizzling here this morning. I'll blame Brexit for that.

I've been waiting since June for French doors to be fitted. Well there's your problem Morrlandmooner, you should have been patriotic and ordered British doors.

I've just wandered on to Mumsnet and can't see much about Brexit. Maybe I'm not looking in the right place.

However I do believe that the younger generation will just get on with things . As we have done over the years. My Mother was a child in WWII. She was amazed that in her lifetime Germans became welcome guests to our shores. As a child she could never have seen that happening.

Late 80s, ( I think) the media was telling us we'd all be going HIV positive, straight and gay alike.

Nucleur war was another worry. I remember the little cartoon film, When the Wind Blows. Very sad little film. Basically saying we were all going to die.

Bay of Pigs was another scary time. Russia. We Didn't Start the Fire by that American bloke was an excellent song pointing out atrocities and disasters.

But it appears the human race is resilient. Our grandchildren will not be waxing lyrical about the EU. They will be living and working as will be possible in their time.

I'd have much preferred to stay. But we didn't. Maybe I'm just pragmatic. I do know people who have suffered certain inconveniences. I do have empathy. But this is just a very small thing in our history.

I think with the death of Gransnetters nobody will mention it! It certainly isn't being mentioned in parts of my world which has quite a diverse and ethnic feel to it.

What would my awful manager have said? It is what it is. And all the typing on here won't affect very much.
