Rabble rousing stories in the Daily Mail do not constitute proof. It does worry me that people are taken in by this stuff.

Whilst the summary of the proposed bill makes it all look very reasonable, I for one, have no faith in this government showing any leadership, organisation or morality in the treatment of those seeking asylum. We have seen what happened with the Windrush generation, and all decent people should be appalled.

Nobody should have any problem with swift and fair processing of asylum applications, nor of the prosecution of people smugglers, but too often, the wrong people are demonised, the people who are only looking for what you and I have; a safe home, a job, a good education for their children.

As I have posted before, if the situation in Libya, Iraq, Afghanistan was bad enough for this country to get involved militarily, then we have an obligation to help the citizens of those countries to make better, safer lives for themselves.

How is it that these people, having had their asylum claim rejected, can just go on and on and on appealing?

Surely they should get just one appeal, and that has to start with an explanation of why the vital information they are now revealing was not presented at their first hearing!

And tell them to bring their belongings to the appeal with them, because if it fails, they won't have time to go back and fetch them...

Migrants, asylum seekers are not illegal until they have been refused permission to stay. Why would anyone travel thousands of miles, sleep rough, risk their life, get into debt to people traffickers just to commit crimes here? Seems an awful lot of effort to me. I prefer to use the word compassionate to gullible.

Money lenders I believe Maudi. Families pay to send one member over to here in the hope they find work (even in a nail bar or hand-wash car valeting, cash in hand, no questions asked, or along the curry mile cooking or washing up in the back kitchen) they then live several people to one room, often sharing mattresses if shift workers and sending whatever they can to the family back home. Who pays the moneylender plus interest in the hope that eventually the debt is cleared and a better lifestyle is possible for the extended family.

Perhaps the government who claimed Brexit would enable the U.K. “to take control of its borders” might wake up to the fact that mass migration is an international problem and can’t be solved in isolation from other countries. The Tories have had 10 years to control non EU migration ( and it could have controlled EU migration in many cases if it had been a*sed to do so. These boats aren’t full of French and Germans or even Polish builders, they are full of people from the Middle East or Africa.

Off grid of course - smuggled into containers and brought over. Well until the god-awful suffocation inflicted upon those 39 Vietnamese via Irish people traffickers. Remember the driver? His wife had recently given birth to twin baby girls.

The smugglers are using different routes now as the paying clients are more wary these days.

It's all do do with this inconvenient thing called 'the law', Ug. If the law says that they can appeal more than once then that is what they will do, if their lawyers think they have a case to appeal.

It could also have a lot to do with the fact that the Home Office is in a state of chaos and is notoriously inefficient. Remember the Windrush scandal? It is reported to day that, four years later only 5% of Windrush victims have received the compensation they are due. Is that the action of an efficient department? I think not.

There is also the small matter of the HO failing to repatriate failed asylum seekers. Highlighted by the recent case of the Liverpool bomber.

Priti Patel doesn't seem to be having much success in ensuring that her department carries out its work properly... Mouthing populist rubbish about wave machines and turning boats back isn't exactly solving her problems.

Apparently It took police/Home office one day to discover that the Liverpool bomber was from Iraq not Syria as he claimed for seven years.

There is no excuse for them not knowing this at the time of his original claim.
