At last some good news.

So pleased, she deserved it !

I hadn't heard of this so here's a report for anyone else who hasn't.

There are other reports saying that she was stopping the horse from running into the road but it doesn't look like she was.

That's awful.

There is no way that a horse would understand why it was being punished and as someone who works with horses she would know that.

So really that is a woman who cannot control her anger and becomes angry at inappropriate times. Not suited to working with children or animals

Absolutely - disgusting behaviour.
Those lovely animals trust us and cruelty to animals, which is not a million miles from cruelty to children, cannot ever be tolerated.

My goodness a woman hits a horse and loses her job and people think it's justified. She was of course a team leader, an experienced teacher working for an educational trust. I bet she was expensive. I bet she'll be replaced by a newly qualified cheaper teacher.
And the people who think she deserved it are just as bad as those who sent her death threats and bomb threats. You've seen a brief video. You weren't there. You don't know the horse. It's trial by media. It's unacceptable.

I saw that video clip last week. It sickened me to be honest. Slapping that terrified horse around the head was cruel. She totally lost her shit. Tried to make out afterwards she was teaching the horse a lesson for running out into the road. Yeh right.

Now she’s no longer a teacher and has a criminal record. Was that an overkill response? I’m on the fence. A hefty fine, community service and the shame of it all might have been enough.

She was pilloried on social media (where else) and had to leave home for a few days in fear of retribution upon her or her children. Mob rule?

The horse was loose and running from the horse box. If you think that's cruel you ain't seen what is sometimes done to get horses into boxes.

Can they not see that makes them worse people than she is?

Wouldn't it be nice to think that one of the horses at the stables actually kicked her in retaliation? What a dreadful specimen she is, certainly not an animal lover!

Like the sort of parent who smacks a child for running away, or to “teach them a lesson” ?
I thought we were better than that.

I'm not sure it is the end of the case for her yet!
The hunting fraternity involved have said that they will take it further.
I don't know if the RSPCA are involved , but I bet they would be happy to put forward a cruelty case if they were.
My thoughts are that if she would punch a horse, what, or whoever else would she also punch if she was upset? Certainly wouldn't want her within a mile of any child of mine!

Absolutely dreadful. I wrote to the Cottemore Hunt yesterday, they should take her membership away.
I am glad she has been sacked, and I hope the RSPCA involvement means she will be prosecuted.

From what I could see, he had just wandered out of the horsebox (not tied up properly - not his fault), and was just being inquisitive and came round to the side of the box where the others were. Horses are such trusting, loving animals, to see that is just awful.

Oh that makes it ok then does it? The horse wasn’t running into the road at all. She lost it because it wasn’t doing as she wanted - much like parents belting kids out of frustration. Let’s not forget she was behaving like this in front of children. What type of message does that send out?

It was hunt too, the people on the quad are the heavies paid to protect them. I find it all a bit that the people who are involved in these hunts are often people who do public service, such as the police.

We have had horses for years, punching or hitting a horse round the head is NEVER ACCEPTABLE.

The fact that she could lose her temper so quickly with a beautiful trusting animal does make me wonder how quickly she could lose her temper with her pupils?

Speaking as a horse owner, punching and/or kicking any hire would have a detrimental effect.

It would frighten and stress the animal and in all probability cause the animal to bolt.
