Some. I meant some.
But I was bl**dy angry and still am.
Oops, I forgot to quote the post I was replying to.
I won't, for sure.

I do wish people would stop calling him 'Boris' like he is some cuddly friend of theirs.
He's not, he's an archetypical sociopath (see Alegrias definition 15.38)
He doesn't give a monkey's cuss about anyone except himself and you lot who are 'Borising' and defending him just look really silly. If you were in the same position he'd throw you under a bus without a moment's hesitation. Are you happy to be called a sociopath, MaizieD?
Alegrias questioned if the people posting here are real people, or if they have some sort of personality disorder. Sociopathy, usually.
I presume she means all Gransnetters as she didn't say 'some' or 'a few' or mention Boris Johnson.
And I still quoted the wrong post! It was this one that I was replying to..
Morally bankrupt, over-privileged and incompetent. I'm still wondering why the nation didn't rise up 18 months ago when he'd supported his aide Cummings, presided over several PPE cock-ups and allowed tens of thousands of elderly people to be discharged from hospital into care homes that weren't equipped to deal with them. He'll get through this just as he's got through all the other resignation-demanding moments in his career because people are politically unaware in this country. If they weren't we wouldn't have had people living in social housing made possible by labour government policy voting conservative as we did in the last election.

Well, now we know who Boris models his apologies on.
What a very nasty and offensive post, which I presume refers to my apology which was genuine and sincere, unlike your faux outrage on behalf of other people.

Goodness, what a strange assumption. If the cap doesn't fit I don't wear it. Why are people always ready to be offended?
--I expect we're going to have an anti Alegrias movement going now--
I'm not offended but it was a sweeping statement and not specific.
I'm not offended because I know I'm not a sociopath but I don't think for a moment that most posters are either.
I'm not offended because I don't take a chat forum as seriously as some seem to do.
--I expect we're going to have an anti Alegrias movement going now--
Not from me but it was an odd thing to say and I think the anger Alegrias feels was misdirected

Good post, GoldenAge.
I suppose everyones ethical standards and moral codes are different as reflected on here, but I know where I stand, and it’s not with the “excuseniks.”
New word…..
And a good word it is too

Why bother to even comment on it then? Just doing a little stirring?
My Daughter a Key Worker died in April 2020 of Covid, leaving her 4 children without a Mum, or a proper funeral. I hope Boris and his cronies enjoyed their party. but no apology will suffice, especially because initially, as usual he lied, until he realised he couldn't wriggle out it by passing the blame, then gave the most insincere grovelling apology, but later still stated that no blame should be attached to himself, what a phoney, get him out!

No.
I think it needed calling out because it was bloody rude.
That's the crux of the matter.
How anyone can excuse it is beyond me.
Maizie D why use 'albino' as a term of abuse ? My husband had albinism and it is always accompanied with eye problems, nystagmus and partial sight. Boris Johnson certainly isn't an albino . If he were it would be even more unacceptable to use this term.

Me neither, MissAdventure. DH said yesterday that there was no point in me shouting at the TV because BJ couldn't hear me.
But making indiscriminate remarks about the mental health of Gransnetters in general and questioning if they are real people is rude and in fact very odd.
And common not just on this thread
I don't know why we are all upset that there is no apology . Bojo lied his way through life to get what he wants. What surprises me is how he got where he is in the first place as Brexit was the biggest lie of all time. The disaster was the nation wanted to believe his lies and praised him so much rewarded him with the job of his dreams with a vast majority.
Time and time again the old saying comes back to haunt us ' 'be careful what you wish for'.
We've all been cheated, I lost two family members to COVID, and certainly no party for the family or hard working NHS staff who did their best. No respect for the people of this nation has ever been shown by this government, it is a case of do what you are told not what we do and carry on regardless.
The question really is 'what are we going to do about it? After all enough is enough, we have put up with the Tories for too long, its their policies that have screwed the nation and is bringing us to our knees. It's time for a change not just in government but its time we demanded the respect we all deserve by those who suppose to represent us.
We can not go on blindly being led by donkeys, we deserve better.
what are we going to do about it? After all enough is enough
There must be some decent ones as many are as dismayed as the rest of us but they need to come forward and write that letter.
They are all as bad as each other can’t trust anyone them although I much prefer Boris to Starmer
Philosophical question she says. Perhaps the smuggiest * in the last couple of days!

Nice one, Rosie Holt!
I think everyone should seriously have a look at their own behaviour during the last two years. I don't condone the party it was very stupid, but most people have broken the rules in some way or another . They say - 'we just met our friends in the park' or 'they came to our house but only for half an hour', or 'we simply had to go on holiday as we were desperate for some sun', etc. etc.
Let he who is without sin etc..... (I'm not religious by the way), but we must honestly look at ourselves before we judge too harshly.
The difference is that they made the rules.
And no, I didn't break the rules.
