I won't, for sure.

We even cancelled a special lunch with an elderly family member the week before we locked down. We never saw him again.

Lucca, do you have a stone throwing meme I could use please?

I was out sorry but have done one now !!

I'm a Conservative and I want Johnson to go - so I assume those who vote for other parties will be fairly unanimous on the issue.

DeeDe Thu 13-Jan-22 18:26:24

No I will not, in fact it’s more than that, his not lead or looked
After any of the public his only for himself and his own people
Many 1,000s died needlessly because of his late lockdown etc
Sooner he goes the better ..
His making the UK a sad joke of a country and badly let down more people than we will ever know, and so many with broken hearts too …
Tragic …

One other point I haven't seen mentioned:

If the gathering was people working together in the same office, why send an e-mail?
Especially as they must know they have some sort of regulator of e-mails like many large organisations do - both legitimate and possibly others not so.
If the colleagues were all working together surely word of mouth or a note up?
It's not adding up.

GillT57 Thu 13-Jan-22 18:31:27

Thank you Lucca grin

Secretsquirrel1 Thu 13-Jan-22 19:12:07

I agree! I think we have a lot to thank BJ for actually.
Imagine if Corbin had of been in charge! And I don’t think KS Wouid have been much better. I can’t imagine Labour having got us though the pandemic. They’d have been hopeless!

I think Starmer would have been a sane steady pair of hands. But to be honest I also think pretty much any previous Tory PM would have done a better job.

I pointed out on this thread (or it could be another) that there are 100 rooms at No. 10, not all offices of course, but many will be.

Alegrias1 Thu 13-Jan-22 19:55:50

I don't think Number 10 is an office, its an office block.

Standard way of organising an event when I was working in an office block was to send an "all-hands" email.

Jaibee007 Thu 13-Jan-22 20:05:24

Nope - Bojo is a creepy scummy liar, only makes insincere apologies when he has no other choice after being caught out, YET AGAIN - how do you know Bojo is lying - are his lips moving?

Calistemon Thu 13-Jan-22 20:06:30

I've received emails from someone sitting opposite me.
It's a way of making sure the message is understood correctly!

His misbehaviour though upsetting is the least of his crimes. Boris is responsible for Brexit, the biggest con sold to a gullible public, that is self infliced and has damaged our economy and future trade prospects.

Covid has been handled dreadfully until the vaccine roll out. The highest death rate per capita in Europe (except for Belgium). The PPE fiasco and returning infectious people to care homes.

Not only should Boris go he should also be held to account under for law for gross mishandling of the country.

I think everyone should seriously have a look at their own behaviour during the last two years. I don't condone the party it was very stupid, but most people have broken the rules in some way or another . They say - 'we just met our friends in the park' or 'they came to our house but only for half an hour', or 'we simply had to go on holiday as we were desperate for some sun', etc. etc.
Let he who is without sin etc..... (I'm not religious by the way), but we must honestly look at ourselves before we judge too harshly.

No, I haven't broken any Covid rules - not one. I don't claim to be without sin, so I will judge as harshly as I see fit.

He’s only apologising because he’s been caught out. He is the most morally vacant PM this country has ever had. I wonder what other things he has lied about….

Absolutely he's apologising because he's been caught out

MissAdventure Thu 13-Jan-22 21:33:36

I feel fine to judge, based on my own behaviour.

Please explain your reasons. It really isn't enough just to make that statement without reasons for doing so.

Joesoap Thu 13-Jan-22 22:07:48

NOT acceptable, a PM lying to the nation.

Exactly. What evidence could you have for that assertion? “They’d have been hopeless” Why ?

Typical gransnet discussion with several rude nasty people venting their anger as their view isn't as popular as they would like. No need really. Just state what you think and why without attacking other posters. Vent your anger elsewhere

Alegrias1 Fri 14-Jan-22 11:12:07

Who you talking to sazz1?

I've been doing Wordle so my powers of detection are all used up.

FannyCornforth Fri 14-Jan-22 11:27:31

‘Are you sure there are no women here?’

Casdon Fri 14-Jan-22 12:01:27

As about 80% of posters have said they wouldn’t accept an apology, I’m assuming sazzl must be referring to those who say they would? I wouldn’t call them rude and nasty though, misguided is strong enough I think.

Can't see why you would assume that. The rude nasty posters can just as easily be those who wouldn't accept an apology. I think people can draw their own conclusions by reading the thread.
