I’m beginning to think that Cummings did actually throw his family in the back of his car and drive to Northumberland to escape the mad house that was number 10. Didn’t he say as well he had to stop Johnson visiting the queen when he had covid? Johnson had to protect Cummings at the time because he knew so much. Just as he’s promising Gavin Williamson a knighthood to secure his silence. Remember the official photo of Williamson with the government whip on the table. Cummings knows where the bodies are buried but Williamson knows all the secrets.

I didn’t mention the word party , I have never condoned the No.10 gatherings, the leaving parties or the BYOB invite party.

Weirdly Cummings really rates Lisa Nandy. Labour has good female politicians.

I don’t believe anything Cummings says or has said in the past. What I find strange is the number of people on here who also disbelieved and condemned him over the Barnard Castle incident but who now think he is being truthful. A leopard does not change his spots and in my opinion he certainly hasn’t changed.

Yep, same about Johnson.

I actually believe quite a lot of what Cummings said in the Rose Garden because it was very much the way my husband's brain worked. That whole driving to Barnard Castle to see if he could drive was my husband all over, I've had one or two white knuckle rides with him over the years. So the stuff Cummings came out with then doesn't necessarily stop me believing him now.

If only Larry the cat could talk. He stalks around No. 10 and hears and sees all the goings on. We may actually get the truth from him.

Indeed it is about Cummings Gwyneth but you can hardly ignore Johnson in a conversation of whether to believe Cummings' account of events.

Yes, Casdon, I remember "‘I beg your pardon, I never promised you a rose garden". I also remember "It's my party and I cry if I want to...". The new version is "It's my party and I lie if I want to".

I think Cummings said a few months ago (he was being questioned by a Parliamentary Committee) that he now agreed that his trip to Durham and Barnard Castle was unwise. It has been proved that some of the facts that Cummings has recently divulged are not lies; they have been backed up by other people. Johnson himself has admitted that he attended at least one of the parties, and various other people have admitted it too. So in these instances, Cummings is telling the truth.
I don't think we have heard the last of Johnson's misdemeanours, I think there may very well be more videos/photos.

Lisa Nandy somewhat alienated me by saying her constituents had voted for brexit and she accepted their decision, so she was never outspoken about the lies and deceit that helped leave win the vote. Having said that she is a good politician and the one DH wanted as leader. I just feel that she was just a bit young to stand up to the people we have running the country.

Well that's really interesting, Gwyneth. Did you vote to leave the EU? Because Cummings was a key figure in making up and promoting the lies told by the main Leave campaign. You must have believed them 5 years ago. What's changed?
