Phew! That's sorted then. Putin will withdraw.

Anniebach Fri 25-Feb-22 12:11:33

She has also been called a ‘1950’s’ housewife

trisher Fri 25-Feb-22 12:13:20

Oh heaven forbid anyone should be "nasty" to the Cambridges!

snowberryZ Fri 25-Feb-22 12:15:44

As if anyone cares what they think?
Anything for attention.

Do they even know where Ukraine is?
They don't strike me as the sharpest tools in the box.

snowberryZ Fri 25-Feb-22 12:19:58

Still, it's given me a laugh this morning. Thanks for that?

Pleased you found something funny about a crisis where people are losing their homes and their lives.

bevisp1 Fri 25-Feb-22 12:33:29

I think most people will stand with Ukraine, it seems H&M think to be acting like the king & queen but their not..

Anyone who is using the conflict in Ukraine to indulge their childish desire to have a go at a celebrity couple they don't like needs to examine their own morals.

snowberryZ Fri 25-Feb-22 12:44:00

Bloody hell Trisher, nobody is laughing at the crisis. nt be absurd.
You are weirdly over invested and strangely defensive when it comes to Harry and Meghan.
Odd.
But you probably have your reasons.

Give over.

Germanshepherdsmum Fri 25-Feb-22 12:44:40

What is the point of celebrities speaking out? Is it merely an opportunity to be seen and heard? It changes nothing. They would do better announcing that they have donated $x to the relief fund (or better still, doing it privately).

No, no I don't think I will.

snowberryZ Fri 25-Feb-22 12:47:25

Once again Trisher.
Nobody is laughing at people losing their homes.
You're just being ridiculous now.

In fact i can't be bothered talking to you.

You can moan at yourself.

volver Fri 25-Feb-22 12:53:36

Honestly, have people no sense? There's a raging conflict on the edges of Europe and many many people are making their views felt about it, but you (plural) still think its a good excuse to poke fun at celebrities you don't like.

What do you think the people of Ukraine would rather hear; that some celebrity has put a statement about Ukraine on their website or that a bunch of grannies are having a laugh about it?

Probably neither, but even if the Ukrainian people don't know we exist, the right thing is to support them, not divert the conversation to our own private obsessions.

trisher Fri 25-Feb-22 12:56:48

Well if you laugh about a remark someone has made about a subject aren't you also laughing at the subject?
Difficult to see how anyone can see anything funny in anything at all to do with Ukraine today.
Even if you think M&H shouldn't have made the statement (although if you believe in free speech how can you object?) that doesn't make it funny

FannyCornforth Fri 25-Feb-22 13:09:23

We are just taking the piss out of M&H because, for a variety of reasons, some of them petty, some justifiable, we don’t particularly like them.
Yes, it might be pathetic and shallow and stupid; but that is all it is.
We are not cruel imbeciles

GillT57 Fri 25-Feb-22 13:15:35

I support and stand up for Ukraine too, anyone want my opinions on it?

Germanshepherdsmum Fri 25-Feb-22 13:20:32

The Ukrainians have made it pretty clear that all they want is for ‘the West’ to engage in actually fighting the Russians - which I hope won’t happen.

Hello everyone - this thread is becoming somewhat heated. As our guidelines say; we'd appreciate it if you'd use the same courtesy when posting messages on forums as you would use when speaking to someone face-to-face... We take a dim view of mean-spiritedness, ganging-up behaviour, and rehashing old arguments.

FannyCornforth Fri 25-Feb-22 13:25:18

Is it? I didn’t notice that it was particularly ‘heated’.
Someone must have reported it.
I’ll be off then .
Toodle pip! ?

Germanshepherdsmum Fri 25-Feb-22 13:27:36

I’ve seen far worse without GN stepping in.

volver Fri 25-Feb-22 13:27:40

Just for the record.

I haven't said anything on here that I wouldn't say to someone's face.

Anniebach Fri 25-Feb-22 13:41:50

Perhaps trisher you are always so defensive of Harry and
Megan because she seems to control him ?

Germanshepherdsmum Fri 25-Feb-22 13:47:00

No Annie, trisher likes ‘strong, independent women’. She said so a few days ago whilst defending Meghan and implying that Catherine doesn’t fit that description.
I think she has a secret liking for red headed men - though I’m not sure I’d call H a man nowadays.

Blossoming Fri 25-Feb-22 13:54:00

Yes JaneJudge Slough is hell. Have you ever tried driving through it?

FannyCornforth Fri 25-Feb-22 13:58:50

I was just going to quote Betjamin but thought much, much better of it
(You may have noticed that I’m still here)
