Although I have not contributed to this thread, I'm keeping a close eye on it for information. I think it's important to keep it alive.

Over to you....

DH showed me the most appalling footage on Youtube, filmed from a helicopter that was taking out a Russian tank convoy. Each tank contains 12 boys men. It was a turkey shoot. They had no idea of what to do, no attempt to drive off the road under the concealing trees, no support fire..one by one, they simply exploded in a hellish ball of flames. Awful. 18 year old conscripts.

Cannon fodder for Putin, so desperately sad.
The young of Russia, dying, all to boost his ego.

Ermm, no DaisyAnne.. Why do you ask?

Wow Biden’s speech is sooooo good.

So good that all the back room boys in the white house are doing their best to put a spin on his reference to replacing Putin.

Zoejory Sun 27-Mar-22 10:07:15

Biden would do the world a favour if he just stopped making speeches.

DaisyAnne Sun 27-Mar-22 18:28:49

How on earth do you justify that Zoejory. You do realise you are out of step with all the leaders of the free world and in step with those who would be or are dictators I presume.

"Turkey shoot" and what you appear to be reading online.

You are the one who is totally out of step! Biden has made some comments that are not conducive to world peace.

The White House is constantly rectifying his loose words. He's very dangerous and needs to keep to a script which I'm sure had been written for him.

So why did the Secretary of State have to back pedal on Bidens announcement on Putin www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10657001/Blinken-says-no-strategy-regime-change-Russia-Biden-remark.html

MerylStreep Sun 27-Mar-22 18:48:29

I don’t think he’ll be allowed out in public fora while.

Mariupol before the war. Now not a single building remains untouched by damage.

maddyone Sun 27-Mar-22 20:46:45

What a beautiful picture of a beautiful city. Putin is a war monger and a criminal in my opinion.

DaisyAnne Sun 27-Mar-22 21:03:42

It seems we have posters who ascribe to the rumours circulated by supporters of a man who is thought by many to have committed an act of treason.

Biden is a man who has studied the science of government. Biden has dedicated his life to public service; a huge change from one who cons and steals from others. He is a statesman who loves his country; he doesn't discriminate. He hasn't capitulated to a Russian dictator as his predecessor almost certainly would have done.

Biden said Putin 'cannot remain in power'. Are you saying you disagree? How wonderful it would be if the Russian's removed him.

Jody1234 Sun 27-Mar-22 21:16:32

What a lovely picture of Mariupol and now all destroyed by this lunatic. I cannot believe this is happening in this day and age. It is despicable.

maddyone Sun 27-Mar-22 21:34:23

Putin cannot remain in power.
Now I’ve said it, but my saying it will have no impact. Perhaps Biden saying it will have more effect. I truly hope so.

Grandmashe43 Sun 27-Mar-22 21:39:16

Mr Biden spoke the truth, the awful Putin must not remain in power, the world knows it.
How we get him out, only God himself knows.

I must be something all those concerned have thought about and talked about and wished for.

I don't think it is necessarily a slip for the person who has brought the West together and held them together so far to allow Putin to think his patience is running out.

Of course it would be wonderful if Putin was removed.

However, as numerous sources will tell you, and anyone with half a brain, it is extremely dangerous of Biden to come out with these comments that could cause Russia to react and cause far greater destruction.

Just do some research and stop with the emotive language.

DaisyAnne Sun 27-Mar-22 21:50:22

What "emotive language"?

BoadiceaJones Sun 27-Mar-22 22:15:30

DaisyAnne-*"Turkey shoot" and what you appear to be reading online".

How does that make me appear American? And what I read online : Guardian, Sydney Morning Herald, Washington Post, NYT, NZ Herald.

Does that help?

BoadiceaJones Sun 27-Mar-22 22:22:40

And Zoejoey - thank you for your sensible and measured responses. Biden must have been out of his mind to call, in the presence of the entire world, for Putin to be replaced. The Russian rat is an utterly medacious, amoral, cold-blooded murderer, but that does not mean than any other nation can dictate the government of another sovereigh state.

MerylStreep Sun 27-Mar-22 22:25:47

Let’s not forget his minor incursion which Zelensky took offence to.
