Apparently the U.K. is not going to send any more money anywhere to the poorest people in the world.

The need has never been greater.

Have spent a lot of time on the African Continent, for God’s sake let’s have some pity for their plight and not just’ pull up the drawbridge ‘ ?

Not entirely what I'd call a waste of money that "made no difference".

Thanks, Volver for the link I hope a lot of people read it and take note, our money is not being wasted.

Still wondering what virtual signalling is ? Virtue signalling perhaps but I wouldn’t be sure. Different idioms . Do any of us spend time in these very poor countries or are we just relying on the press? Sincerely wondering if any of you have lived in a ‘poor’ country.

I have learnt a lot from listening to Vandana Shiva an Indian scholar, she is a Wise wise woman an environmental and food sovereignty advocate, who understands the corporate exploitation of farmers and the devastation it brings to the poorest people on earth. Listen to her on YouTube she certainty has brought insight and illumination into my consciousness on a subject I had little understanding of.

Totally agree with you Maudi, charity begins at home, especially as we all know inflation is through the roof.
The haves will always have but the have nots get very little help
It`s about time governments of these so called poor countries stood up to the plate and looked after their own.
