The Royal Standards

I didn’t want to intrude on the Prince of Wales thread so I decided to post here. Isn’t it time that Wales is included in the Royal Standard, to recognise all the countries of the UK. We do need to move with the times, IMO.

Until relatively recently I was quite a republican but Trump has really put me off. I don’t want a figure head that needs to be voted for so current the monarchy has to do, slimmed down.

Wales was considered part of England
I thought part of the Kingdom of Great Britain?

Best thing to do is research the history of Wales. Its all there and makes the position of Wales much easier to understand. I suppose Im a monarchist although I've never thought much about it till now, but I am pretty sure that I would rather have the RF than an elected President. The trouble with an elected H of S, you could well get a wolf in sheep's clothing, someone who was blatantly political which ever way round, A good career move, someone in it for the money, a complete disaster. No I'd stay with a system that's been tried and tested and pretty sound and satisfactory.

DaisyAnne, you watching?

I think I agree Jaberwok. So wouldn’t it be wonderful if King Charles decided to acknowledge Wales and change the royal standard to show a Welsh Dragon on one of the quarters.

I think it would be a great idea to add the representative standard for Wales.

Just popping in for a minute to say that Monmouthshire is officially part of Wales since 1972. There was for years some query about it as for a while it was considered part of England by some. But Wiki explains all. On the edge of the Eastern Valley it suddenly changes into lush rolling farmland , quite different to the coal mining valleys.

There was a campaign for independence for Monmouthshire a while ago but it was destined to fail.

I think when people spend a lot of time worrying about flags they are missing the bigger picture.

But as we are a blend of countries, missing one out seems rather non inclusive!

Yes, I must be, I spend all day redesigning flags so that Wales doesn't feel left out hmm

Actually, no need! Wales has its own flag and own anthem and they're much better than the others. ???????

Well there you go then, all's well, so no need to feel aggrieved, especially If its better than the others.

I'm not aggrieved. Not in the slightest.

I just found a suitable design if anyone wants to action it ?
