What Brexit, we’re still being unnecessarily lead by the nose by the EU in many aspects.

Which ones? Can you be more explicit please?

Ever the optimist. Fleurpepper....

Oh, come on Maizie. You know there is a deep state organisation exercising power against us. How could the EU not be part of it? There it is, wanting its own rules and not treating us as the superior beings we are. And then there are the "administrators", those dreadful civil servants, who are in cahoots with them. Of course, the EU will spend all its time making our lives more difficult.

Sorry, I have had enough of numpty news angry I think Fleurpepper will be a long time waiting.

Brexit ,for all its bad press, certainly did keep the promise to fund our NHS.

Is this an ironic, spoof post? !
If not, please provide figures to show where the NHS benefitted

DaisyAnne Mon 24-Oct-22 20:57:50

I hate to say it, but I doubt it is spoof Iam. My conspiracy theory is that GN has been taken over by 15-year-olds.

Iam64 Mon 24-Oct-22 21:03:11

Or maybe by those older white men /women in Surrey who believe the lies pedalled by Johnson and co

DaisyAnne Mon 24-Oct-22 21:18:30

Either would work at the moment wink

Let’s forget about joining EEA for now, it’s 2 yrs until the next GE, anything can happen in that time, Ukraine may be settled quickly or it could be WW3. For the UK it’s not going to be easy whoever is in power.
Probably Sunak is the least worse option, if he is seen to be fair and firm he will do well, he is never going to give away as much as some want. There is plenty of scope for reducing inefficiency and wasteful spending, we will see what the budget changes, I don’t think more borrowing is a problem as long as it is targeted to more growth, borrowing for more giveaways is not going to be well recieved.

DaisyAnne Mon 24-Oct-22 23:38:40

Was the EEA mentioned Katie59. I missed that.

Sunak will not succeed unless he confronts the reality of billions of lost revenue year on year due to Brexit.

If he doesn’t, his time as PM will end as all the others have ended.

In failure.

The European Economic Area is the Customs Union or formerly European Free Trade Area

Sunak’s problem is that he has to live with the current trade agreements, because right wing Tories will withdraw support.

When did the last PM finish with success ?.

An estimated 50,000 people marched through London at the weekend campaigning for the Uk to rejoin the EU.

This doesn't seem to have been reported at all by the BBC or most of the national media apart from The Guardian.

Yes I was impressed giving the fact that it isn’t high on the agenda at the moment.

I Am 64, everyone who reads a newspaper knows the NHS has benefitted since Brexit , as promised . There is now a sufficiency of well paid nurses and doctors.

I think this an excellent assessment of the situation.

When you say "everyone who reads a newspaper" do you actually mean everyone who reads The Daily Express"??

When has a rich person ever looked down and come up with a good solution to poverty?

volver Tue 25-Oct-22 12:49:43

Carnegie.

Prentice Tue 25-Oct-22 12:56:25

Yes there are many rich people who want poor people to benefit and do their best to promote this.
The great problem is that there are so many people throughout the world who need more money/ wages, and it is hard as a government to bring this about.
Universal credit does help people on lower wages by topping them up to a certain level, but I would like to see benefits for disabilities, for those who can never work, go up in line with inflation.I thank God that I and all my family have been and are, able to work, but I know those who cannot.Life is a struggle.

Where on earth did you read this? And how on earth did you actually believe it?

It is hard to fathom really.

If he is not trying to gaslight the UK population - and he doesn't seem the type - then perhaps he can send people to the EU to talk about the laws regarding ours/their boarders and get something sensible sorted out.

It will give us some idea about how grounded this government is going to be.

Caleo Tue 25-Oct-22 18:26:31

Fleurpepper, it's common knowledge these clever men and women in government know what to do to for the benefit of the old Country and its citizens.
I look forward to your rebuttal.

Is the above really your answer to the question after your initial post?
You must be a politician yourself- great tactic!
