Who?

BTW - should MPs be going on holiday in parliamentary time? They get loads of holidays - teachers can't go on holiday in term time- why should MPs? Johnson never does anything for his constituents - he lives miles away and never does surgeries - has a team that do that.

Well Boris has cut his holiday short and is supposedly on his way back to the UK. Wouldn't that be a turn up for the book.

Cutting short a holiday?
Something must be going on!

Maudi Thu 20-Oct-22 16:40:08

Seems he's still popular

Maudi Thu 20-Oct-22 16:42:24

I'd love it if Boris stood against the back stabber Sunak and won. Probably won't happen but wouldn't it make things interesting.

growstuff Thu 20-Oct-22 16:45:55

I'd rather have a stable government than an "interesting" one.

MissAdventure Thu 20-Oct-22 16:46:38

I'm a bit fed up with "interesting".
Boring and stable would do. smile

I think boring is considerably underrated.

MissAdventure Thu 20-Oct-22 16:50:48

You're right.
We need Gordon Brown back.

Farzanah Thu 20-Oct-22 16:53:35

Why not the Tesco lettuce, which outlived Truss, and is receiving congratulations on line?
What’s not to like, and a green candidate to boot?

Barmeyoldbat Thu 20-Oct-22 17:27:42

The country has been at a standstill for about 6 months with all this Tory squabbling

Whitewavemark2 Thu 20-Oct-22 17:32:26

Johnson can’t possibly stand again. He is being investigated for misleading the house.

CatsCatsCats Thu 20-Oct-22 17:33:07

Failing a General Election, I'd love the next PM to actually care about the environment, climate change, water pollution, nature, wildlife, etc.

Oh, wait, but there isn't anyone in the Tory party that qualifies, is there?

Stormystar Thu 20-Oct-22 17:37:18

Fleurpepper don’t we vote for a party knowing how a change of leadership occurs within that particular party. I’m not saying it’s good or bad right or wrong. What’s happening now simply evidences failures of Democratic Idealism. And I’m pondering on what that says about us as citizens. I’ll own it - me in particular.

Paul Bristow MP supports Boris because 'It's about winning as many seats as we can.' Not it's all about doing our best for the country.

Yammy Thu 20-Oct-22 17:45:02

What must the rest of the world think of us. Putin must be laughing and the Chinese.
It will take someone strong ,we should have a general election and let Keir Stamer have a stab at it.

I agree. Competent would be good too.

It would appear not.

rosie1959 Thu 20-Oct-22 18:27:21

Most likely Rhisi Sunak but then again depends how much support there is for Boris Johnson he still is very popular

Whitewavemark2 Thu 20-Oct-22 18:30:31

If it goes to the members - Mordaunt.

If it is just MPs - Sunak.

However, I do think that Mordaunt will be the leader that most MPs can unite around.

Don’t a lot of them think she’s too woke?

Whitewavemark2 Thu 20-Oct-22 18:34:20

Oh yes I’d forgotten that.

But a lot don’t like Sunak either.

Zoejory Thu 20-Oct-22 18:43:30

They need the backing of 100 MPs to go forward. Then I guess it goes to the members. Be interesting to see what happens.

Only with the small of brain.

Boris Johnson failed our country and Liz Truss trashed our economy.

The prospect of yet another Tory Prime Minister is monstrously scary.

It's time for a General Election NOW so we can show the Conservatives the door.
